I just need some clarification. My TDEE is about 2100 and my BMR is 1550 so I've set my calories intake to 1700. I understand that I don't then eat any exercise calories back, is this correct?

This thread has been really helpful. I just wanted to check. Once you have your BMR (mine is 1550 so ive put my daily goal as 1600) and I work out, do i eat these exercise calories back? Or if you do it using this formula (rather than through mfp) should I not eat them back?

You look amazing - well done!! I'm also 5.11 and currently 159 and can only wish to look like your right picture by losing 2lbs. Makes it clear that you can be the same height and nearly weight as someone else, but look totally different!

Some of these responses have really made me laugh! Sometimes you forget that other people around you will be going through the same things and feelings ... mine was creme fraiche. I bought the 'lighter' creme fraiche and weighed it recently, the serving amount was about a thimble, I nearly cried in to my chilli con carne!

Thank you all for your replies. So my TDEE is 2150 and so with 20% off is 1720. So I should keep on with my strength training and cardio plan but up my calories? A good breakfast smoothie for me is 2 good handfuls of fresh spinach, 1 cup of frozen berries and 1 banana blended together with some water to dilute it slightly. Looks pretty gross but tastes great!

Wow - thank you everyone for your help with this, this is exactly what I needed! I just didn't know what I was supposed to be doing and what you've said has made sense. From today I will eat back the calories from exercise and see how I get on! Thanks again for the support and help - much appreciated all.
