Good job everyone! Still not quite there yet, but will try to post some before and now pics later.

I agree, day 4 is definitely easier. But the side lunges and lift are killing me. When I do the lunge properly, I don't seem to have the leverage to lift the weights. Can see a little bit of a difference already though, so that's motivating.

Well done! Great job, not only on losing the weight but on the toning too. It makes a difference!
-
Didn't feel too bad after the workout, but man those front raises are tough. As the day goes on I'm slowly beginning to feel the ache. Gotta love DOMS. Wonder if it'll get worse tomorrow... Keep going everyone!

30 Day shred begins tonight! Gulp! Wish me luck!
-
Congratulations! I remember that one well.

Week 1 169.8. Whoops!
-
SW: 168.8 (January 1)
-
In again. Won't be anywhere near my scale on 1st Jan, so will post my 31st weight instead.
-
I seem to have lost half a pound over the two weeks over Christmas. Whoop! Started December: 174.4 Week 4 weight: 168.8
-
173.3. But that'll come down next week. Even if I do have Christmas between now and then!

The other option would be to try a tripod. Set it up and trigger the shutter just before your subject comes into shot. You can also use it to pan smoothly which helps get the nice effects that Kolohe71 showed. It may feel like overkill for a point and shoot, but with the little light that gets into their shutters they need…

Wow, well done. That's an amazing difference!
-
Wow well done!

169.2. Although how I lost 2lbs this week I can't comprehend given the amount of lovely food I've eaten. Perhaps you burn more calories when you're ill?
-
Nope. I'm not the cook, so there's no way I'd even be able to guesstimate exactly how many calories are in things.
-
I'm in. Although I don't have particularly high hopes for losing in December. Too many Christmas dinners and parties! This will just help me try to avoid gaining hugely!
-
Well done everydaypam!! Even if it was stomach flu enhanced... :-)
-
Before 237lbs, now 174lbs. The second picture is a slight fish eye (makes me look a little thinner than I should be) but it's not too pronounced. Last 30lbs to go! Loving this thread, well done everyone! Edit: I just realised my friend Ben is in both. If it's not obvious, I'm the girl.

That's the problem with the internet, can't control who you're talking to. Well, it's more a problem for those who try. I do find the shock joke funny 9 times out of 10. Very little shocks me, and I don't believe anyone has a right to not be offended.

172.4lbs this week. Can't find myself on the spreadsheet, but I definitely checked in every week. :-( And I'm checking in early as I won't be at home tomorrow.
-
174.4lbs. But then a weekend in Paris was never really going to end any other way...
-
Bacon medallions. No extra fat. All that lovely baconyness...
-
This week I noticed that I spent two days wandering around Paris in skirts and tights and my thighs weren't even slightly chafed!
-
You are loads smaller! Well done!

I think it's familiarity. Friends I see every day have noticed my weight loss less than those I see infrequently, because the change is gradual. I think if we all avoided mirrors and shiny surfaces for a few weeks/months we would see the difference more too. That's why I think before and after pictures help - we can't say…

Every time you are tempted to do it, ask yourself what you want more. The oreos or to be healthier? When you are ready to be healthy, the latter will win more than the former. It still won't win all the time, but that's ok.
-
Hurrah! 173 this week! That's more like it. Thanks for the reminder Jackie!
-
Thanks everyone! It's great being able to share this stuff with people who are going through the same stuff.

What have you told MFP you want to lose per week? Instinct says that 1300 for a lightly active person would mean you want to lose 2lbs per week which is a little too much at your weight (YMMV). Reset your goals, eat more and you should find you lose 1/2 a lb per week reasonably.
