Genuinely curious, in what scenario can you not have coffee but drink coke zero?

Nothing wrong with weighing every day as long as you understand what the numbers mean. I weigh every day it gives me a much better idea of what is happening with my body other than fat loss/gain. I can fluctuate over 4 pounds in the space of a month without my actual body composition or measurements changing. I often get…

I'd make a hearty snack with plenty of protien then head to bed and tuck into a really good breakfast. One day won't destroy your metabolism

I work out in full makeup and some jewellry, I go to the gym from work I'm hardly going to bother taking my makeup off before working out. And I figure my jewellry is safer on me than in the lockers at the gym. I can't really see how either of these things effect you?
-
But how does it recognise what I'm scanning? Someone must have allocated that product to that barcode at somepoint.

I went thought this when I joined MFP, it gave me 1200 cals per day. I could do it for a few days but really it wasn't sustainable. Over the last year I've tried lots of different approaches and for the last 30 days I've been eating at what MFP considers maintenance for me (1600 cals) and working out 6 days AND eating back…

I went through a rough patch a while ago and didn't log for a couple of months, I was still on track most of the time though. Was gutted when I came back and realised I'd been de-friended by a couple of people I really looked up to fitness wise.
-
I would never dump a friend for not logging. I often don't log for periods of time or take a break from MFP, I'll still be working out most days and eating healthy I might just be taking a break from logging EVERY. SINGLE CALORIE. I can get a little OCD about it after a while. MFP is just one of the tools I use to keep my…

Always cracks me up when people talk about what humans are 'designed' to do, like there was a team of engineers sitting around putting together the functions of the human body, we have evolved and adapted to become the species that we are and as such there will be variances between individuals, some people thrive on a diet…

I bought Zumba Rush, its fun, I can work up a sweat but I find the routines a bit easy, I usually get 4 or 5 stars so not too much of a challenge there. Still want the Nike one, still can't bring myself to spend the $! Will have to keep an eye out for it on special
-
I do this for those reasons exactly

Great answer, I'm often feeling confused about what sort of exercise I ''Should'' be doing, particulary reading the MFP forums where a lot of people seem to be a bit lift heavy or go home. Cardio migth not get me ripped, but I like it and it makes me feel good, I find Jillian Michaels DVD's quite fun so I'm more likely to…
-
Nobleh5 that sounds really good, I didn't realise you could do a custom programme and there were fitness tests etc. I was going to get Zumba Rush as its on special for $36, the Nike one is more like $69 but sounds like it might be worth the extra money! The kids are only 5 and 6 but they won't be playing it so thats not a…

I saw the ad for the Nike one, but couldn't really see how it differed from a workout DVD i.e. how the Kinect sensor actually tracks your movements etc. PolyTeine are they good? Dance Central looks quite fun but is it fitness based or just a game?
-
LOL I'm totally an AFFG, I've nver been fat per se but plenty akward! But I agree, please stop sending unsolicited creepy messages, its creepy.
-
Ok , figured out how to manually ad the cals, can I add my own description or do I have to pick somehting off the list?
-
Like the stick ones that you can just put in the glass? Might have to get one for the office.

And really important to remember not to compare you're % to that of a man! A 'fitness' body fat percentage for a male is 14-17% for a woman its 21-24%
-
That article you quoted is for a girl, as in a child not a woman. According to the link below you're actually in the acceptable range, and at the lower end of it too. http://www.nerdfitness.com/blog/2012/07/02/body-fat-percentage/ My body fat percentage is 24% at the moment, I'm fit but you can't see much obvious muscle…

Hi I'm Joanna Joined MFP a while back but only just found this group! I'm living in Queenstown for another 10 days before moving back to my home city of Christchurch next Monday! I'm a 'healthy' weight (55kgs and 160cms) but I'm focusing on making better food choices and building my fitness and strength. Please feel free…

Thanks, I'd been considering looking into NROLFW but don't have access to a gym at the moment, we're moving in a couple of weeks though so that will change! I generally only tend to log mon-fri so I love the idea of eating slightly under to give wiggle room! I find eating healthy during the week (or at least while at work)…
-
Thanks, I'd heard great things about NROLFW. I don't have access to a gym at the moment but hope to in the next few months. When you say eat lean protein, you mean like fish, chicken etc exactly how much protein should I be eating? In comparison to the rest of my diet?
-
Oh thanks, will give them a go

What's your name? Joanna Where do you live? Queenstown, New Zealand What are your food vices/ cheats? I love pizza, ice cream and wine What do you think is holding you back from being in your TOP shape? Time, I love to workout but have two small kids and work fulltime so I only manage 6 workouts a week What's your favorite…

Oh and I'm also 29+ years old, I have two kids and have had back problems! I find the best preventative for me is being fit!

Hi there, I'm new too, just joined, what a great group! I've been looking for something like this without knowing what I was looking for until I found it. I joined MFP a few months back with the intention of dropping around 7lbs (3kgs, I'm from NZ but getting good at the conversion!) I'm 5'2" and my ideal was to be 120lbs…

Every day, I fluctuate a lot! I can be anywhere from 119 to 123 without having actually gained or lost body fat. As long as I'm around 120 I'm happy, I try to go more on how I 'feel' fitness wise

I found it a challenge to start with, I wasn't that out of shape but I was quite weak, I found the cardio sections and abs ok but the strength really hard. Theres really only one way to find out though, the DVD isn't that expensive for what it is and if you really can't do it to start with you could maybe start a walking…

I went up to level 2 after doing level 1 10 times, it was harder but no harder than level 1 was the first day I tried it. I was getting bored with level 1 after 10 days too so mixing up the routine was nice.

I have quite bad stretch marks from my first pregancy (my eldest is now 5 and youngest 4 so its been a while) I've recently been doing hte 30DS and found its done wonders for my whole mid section, I can see wee bits of ab poking out either side of my stretch marked tunmmy! I lost all the weight from my pregancies plus some…
