  • I've taken a month off posting, but I've still been running. This month I'll go for 40 miles again :)
  • Hello, I'm Daniel from England. I'm 36 years old and I used to be 27 stone (378lbs). I've lost almost half of my body weight, and started running on New Year's Eve that just went. In March I completed my first 10k. I'm not very fast if I'm honest, but I try - I'm still not "fit". Last Saturday I completed a 10K Mud Run,…

  • Just a quick one today, still resting ready for this Sunday's 10k. The first race I've ever done, this is where it all comes to a head! March 2nd: 6.22 March 6th: 1.21 Total: 7.43
  • I'm in again. Done a 10k today, practice on what should just about be the route for my first ever 10k race next Sunday. I'm capable, just terribly slow. Then in three weeks I've got a 6 miler, and I'm then in training for a 10k Mud Run at the end of April. So I'm definitely doing 6.2+6.2+6=18.4 miles, let's call it 30 for…
  • Long way off, sadly. Hamstring issues put paid to my running and this was as far as I got. Until today, but that's something for the March thread ;)
  • Bad week for me too. After injuring myself on Thursday's circuit training I tried to get back into it today - did a hilly 7 mile walk on Sunday and seemed OK so thought I'd be fine. Pulled up after 2.5 miles on the treadmill though. Got my first ever race this Saturday, a 5k and I'm seriously considering not doing it - but…
  • Just a couple of miles today. Did some circuit training at lunch time for the first time, hadn't considered how tired I was until I started to run!
  • 5k Training, PB.
  • 3.5 Miles today, training.
  • Did a quick 2.6 last night at target pace for my 10k, followed by trying stupid speed for a very brief couple of minutes!
  • 3.24 miles today, treadmill work (intervals)
  • Managed to complete my first 10k on the road - 6.2 miles :)
  • 02/03/2014 - 2.5 mile moderate/hard training run. Tried to do it at the pace I want for my 10k runs next month. I struggled, but it's early days.
  • Hello, hope I can join. I only started running on New Year's Eve... I've never been able to run but I've signed up for two 10ks in March so I've got a lovely target and I'm raising money for Sport Relief at http://my.sportrelief.com/sponsor/danielfrancis - my before/after pics are there too to show why I've never been able…
  • Thanks to the others :)
  • Thanks :) And sadly, those glasses got into an argument with a washing machine... and lost ;)
  • Still going. That 75% of what I'd put back on? That's now 100%. Well, 100%+ - I'm now a stone and a half (21lbs) lighter than what was my lightest. I've started running now... interesting stuff! Been very difficult but I'm in training for two 10ks in March. Would love new friends if anyone is out there! New before/after…
  • The local paper have picked up on my efforts now too :) http://www.burtonmail.co.uk/News/Dan-gets-on-his-bike-to-beat-weight-issues-20130908154149.htm
  • Hi all, Not really posted for a while - I lost my way a little and put four stone (56lbs) back on but have now lost 75% of that so back on track! I'm now putting the work I've been doing to get back to good effect and am raising funds to take part in a charity cycle ride (my second) at the end of September. If anyone could…
  • Just done my first session on it. I'm really unfit, just missed 3 months of gym time and didn't do too much before that. It's nearly killed me! Think I'll be trading it in, time better spent at the gym...
