  • I know where my BMI was. My weight would fluctuate up or down 5 lbs naturally over the past 4 years, but I looked and felt strong and healthy, and you should see the way I ate lol. After I had my first baby, it took me a year to go from 155 to 130, and it was work. After that I broke up with my child's father, and dropped…
  • I stopped strictly counting and logging my calories after I got to my goal weight 6 years ago, and just ate mostly healthy foods while trying to avoid empty calories. Even though I LOVE sweets and cheese, and would have some of each every day, I stayed within a healthy weight without having to really think about it. I am…
  • Thank you  I actually like the curves I have now, and love my growing belly. The things that bother me most are 1) Feeling like I've lost the knowledge and ability to maintain the healthy diet that I learned after have to lose some weight after my first child, and 2)Growing out of ALL my pants within the first 8…
  • Thank you for your input. I have talked to my OB about my concerns, and his reply is "I'm not really focused on weight, as long as you're not losing it." He's a very laid-back kind of Dr., which I generally like. I've gained 22 lbs now, am only 17 weeks, and my goal for this pregnancy was 30 lbs total. Even though Im…
  • Beans should be a stable for you. Great source of slow burning carbs, will give you energy throughout the day.
  • I'm 11 weeks pregnant now, and have been avoiding tracking my calories for a few reasons. One is that I don't want to fixate, and don't want to see the evidence of my over-eating most days. Even with the occasional nausea I had in the first few weeks, I've never had a problem eating or keeping my food down. I have more of…
  • You are correct. These are not hard numbers for me - I just found out I'm pregnant and had blood tests to determine how far along, so I miscalculated a bit. The 10 pound goal was what I set and was working towards before I found out. I realize this goal may not be realistic now, but I don't want to abandon the changes I…
  • Thank you all for your input. I realize I sound like a narcissistic fool, but really I'm not. I was just starting to get back on track and lose some of the extra weight I have gained through junk food and laziness, by eating healthy and exercising, when I found out I was pregnant. When I exercise and eat right, without…
  • Again, I am going to talk to my Dr, and ultimately follow her advice. I like hearing other mom's stories and opinions based on their experience. Thank you to those that have shared.
  • I am talking about losing 10lbs in 12 weeks, and gaining it back plus another 5 - 10 during the remaining 20 weeks. Nothing drastic.
  • I have my first prenantal apt. next week, and I do plan to ask her. I am not trying to be a stick thin pregnant person. I have no desire or ability to starve myself - I'm a monster when I'm hungry. What I'm talking about is limiting junk food and starting excersise - like yoga or swimming - with my 6 year old. I would…
  • As far as coffee goes, starbucks sells unsweetened cold coffee at grocery stores. I mix it with a splash of unsweetened cashew milk, and a dash of stevia for sweetness. Yerba mate tea is high in caffeine and tastes great with nothing added.
  • It sounds gross, but I love 2 hard boiled eggs, chopped up and mixed with a little mayo and mustard, a sprinkle of salt and pepper, and a quarter cup of diced ham. I make a few days worth ahead of time, grab and take it anywhere or eat in 5 minutes. High protien, low carb, and tastes like deviled eggs!
  • I've never used the recipe option before, but i'm going to use it a lot starting tonight. I find eating the same 10ish healthy homemade recipes helps me keep things simple and therefore stick to a diet plan. Thanks to everyone for the tips!
  • thanks for the advice - or rather the reaffirmation of what i already knew. i know losing weight is about change and moderation, but sometimes my impatient side starts looking around for cheats. i saw such great results in the first 3 weeks of my diet, then my motivation started fading and i started slacking on diet and…
  • hi everyone happy thursday! i'm in a hurry to lose another 10 pounds before i buy a bathing suit for summer. i have been eating healthy (mostly) and excersising when i can, but my weight loss seems to have slowed WAY down lately:grumble: i've been thinking about trying Alli or another pill to help me get rid of my flab.…

  • i hate them too because i don't think i do them right  but i do squats and i like them way better. plus doing them kind of makes me feel like a ballerina:tongue:
  • my baby girl is seven weeks old and she does soak up a ton of energy  for me, continuing my prenatals, napping with her, drinking lots of water and acai berry juice once a day keeps my energy up. also don't forget your breakfast you need the fuel! i like complex carbs with a little protien; shredded wheat or oat meal…
  • oh yeah - if and when you start doing strength training make sure you ease into it and take a day off in between or you will get really sore and not give your muscles time to repair. also eat your protien it helps recovery
  • i feel yor pain sweetie:ohwell: before having my daughter i was the same height and weight as you ( man i miss those days:sad: !) i liked my body but had a few areas that i just couldn't get looking toned, mainly my upper arms. that is just my genetics, but i did start lifting weights 4 times a week and doing push ups, and…

  • thanks for starting this question i had been wondering about that too
  • thanks everyone that makes me feel better:happy: this is my first time dieting and yes it is my first week. i have been breastfeeding for about 7 weeks and my daughter has gained 5 pounds! i have enough milk so i guess there is no need to worry about that. now i can enjoy feeling lighter guilt free:bigsmile:
  • i don't know how old you are or your medical history but i know there is a cardiac condition called atrial fibrilation. it's fairly common i guess though i don't know what causes it. i work in an E.R doing EKGs and iv'e seen this a lot in young people ( they are usually under stress). it comes and goes, is not painful, and…
