hi everyone
i wasnt going to weigh myself untill friday because i wait to wait a week in between but i couldn't resist
so today i am 7.4 pounds lighter than i was four days ago!:noway:
what gives? i've been eating on all my daily calories, drinking 2 liters of water, and have had NO excersise due to rain. I don't understand how i lost so much when i'm supposed to be losing 2 pounds a week!
i am truely not complaining - i mean it was an awesome surprise - but i'm breastfeeding and don't want to deprive my daughter of calories, and i don't want to lose in an unhealthy way.
this is my first time dieting is this normal?

I guess this means your metalbolism is healthy because its your first time dieting. I wouldn't worry, I'd be thrilled.0

How long have you been nursing? I know the weight came off me in big chunks like that when my son was really young and nursing, likely as much water weight as anything else, but hey,,I'd take it! I was one of those people who lost weight easily while nursing, you might be too..so dissapointed when son decided to stop!:ohwell:0

Was this your first week at it? Most people lose quite a bit in the first week, and it then levels off to 1 to 2 per week. I had 30 to lose, and lost 5 the first week, then 1 or 2 the subsequent weeks.
I think it is quite normal. Just saw the note about nursing - as long as your milk production keeps up, you are fine! I didn't diet right after I had my daughter, because I found the calorie cutting affected milk, but by the time she was 7 or 8 months, and eating a bit, I dieted and lost the weight. Good luck!

breast milk has a LOT of fat in it. they need it to develop their brains, so if your diet doesn't have enough fat, youur body will get it somewhere. Amanda is right too, in the beginning it comes off fast. As long as you are producing milk, there is no problem. if you were malnourished, your body would stop making milk- that isn't gonna happen unless you drastically starve yourself-
enjoy it while it lasts!!!0 -
thanks everyone that makes me feel better:happy:
this is my first time dieting and yes it is my first week. i have been breastfeeding for about 7 weeks and my daughter has gained 5 pounds! i have enough milk so i guess there is no need to worry about that.
now i can enjoy feeling lighter guilt free:bigsmile:0 -
Thats great to hear And as long as your daughter is gaining weght and you're still producing milk then you're doing all right.
Congrats on the weight loss that's good to hear :drinker:0
