FYI when I weaned off diet coke I had MASSIVE headaches. It was terrible but I struggled through pushing fluids. I think it was both withdrawal from the caffeine as well as the artificial sweetners.

I will turn 65yo in 1 year and 1 week. I was "oh crap", I feel like I have the body of a 90yo! I don't want to live like this the rest of my life. Also this summer I started working in hospice. We have many people younger than I on hospice, dying due to chronic medical conditions, NOT cancer. That was certainly a wakeup…

sounds like you are eating bacon without all the chemicals. Go for it! BACON YUMM.

Keto is very hard to maintain. There are so many restrictions so its not for everyone. I have metabolic syndrome with diabetes and my doctor first put me on a protein sparing modified fast (which is extreme calorie reduced keto) which you need to need followed closely by a doctor and dietician. I didn't last long with…

Thanks. Maybe it is more of getting used to the change. Even if my wrinkles do show more I know I will feel so much better.

my husband: You don't look PREGNANT anymore!!! Grrrrr. but it was true

I was on a keto diet a few years ago for 3 months. Ate 3 eggs a day and my bad cholesterol plummeted and my good cholsterol elevated. My Vit D climbed to normal instead of having a severe deficiency. I'm going back on that diet again!

I always get it every time but this time I gradually decreased my carbs over two weeks and I did not.

You can lose weight very quickly on a very low carb diet but it is really hard to stick to and most people end up gaining much of the weight back.

my endocrinologist says to limit it to one or two a day. The problem is that sometimes your body can confuse artificial sweeteners with the real thing. Personally I know the more I drank diet Coke the more I craved it, just like my sweet or starchy carbs. I was drinking probably the equivalent of 1-2 liters a day and…

I found that the more I deprived myself of the sugar or starchy carbs the more I wanted them or craved them. I was a severe sugar addict, to the point where I would feel so hungry I would feel shaky and feel like vomiting if I did not have something every 3-4hrs. I wanted to go on a low carb diet starting tomorrow so…

I would love an invite. I need the challenge and motivation. I turned 60 yo and my cholesterol and blood sugar is through the roof. I mean who has a triglyceride level of 464, yep that's right. On top of it all I have chronic pain, fibro and degenerative disc disease, sciatica and the meds they put me on for my cholesterol…

I usually hated the taste of this stuff until I found Syntrax Nectar. I get Fuzzy Navel at the Vitamin Shop and it looks like you can order it online too. It's a the best I have ever tasted. It has a nice orange/peach flavor. Nectar is an whey isolate so it mixes very easily. I use a huge water bottle so I use a whole…

Congrats! We started about the same time and there's no way I can run like you did but I'm so much healthier too. Keep up the good work!

please don't give up. We need you! I've been losing motivation too and need people like you who have done so much for so long. I've been doing this just 6months and I'm already tired. I'm about half way to where I kinda want to be but not where I SHOULD really be. My body does follow the " 3500 calorie deficit to lose a…

So funny. Going through the exact same thing!!! There's some that I just can't part with no matter how hard I try. I figured I'd try again in another 10 pounds or so.

First off I'm not one of the ones loading up their plates. I prefer a little bit of this and that of things that I can't or don't care to make myself at home to getting everything including a belly ache. I've worked my butt off (literally) and next time I go on cruise I'm going to eat whatever the heck I want. Obviously my…

Emotional eater. Love to eat "comfort food" when depressed which I was most of the time because I was fat and miserable and then I would eat more and get even fatter and more depressed and add to a growing list of medical problems. Lots of pain issues and I used as an excuse to sit on my butt all the time if I wasn't…

Thought provoking. I don't really believe the 12-21-2012 stuff I guess my thoughts are that in the future, my children's or grandchildren's if not my own there will be some kind of disruption whether it be a devastating pandemic, world war, or terrorism (homegrown or outside) that brings the country to its knees or…

you definitely have your age in your favor. Weights, hydrate, moisturize, healthy diet for healthy skin.

amazing job!!!

I also noticed that my weight stalled when I started lifting heavier weights but i really did like how my body was looking. I got so frustrated I took a couple days off from exercise and upped my calories for a couple days and dropped 5 pounds.

you can find them about anywhere. even my local grocery store has them. i've never found that one brand is better than another

Well I walked my first 5K today and it took 51 minutes which is 3.66mph. I usually do 3.5mph on the treadmill but really pushed it to walk as fast as possible. I started out a few months ago doing just 2.5mph. I agree that's it's best to try train a bit outside before race day. Today was rough since I wasn't used to…

I like the Chobani Champions. They are for kids so they are small servings and the perfect size if you are watching carbs. LOVE the berry

I'm so proud of you! I had the same experience and it feels great doesn't it!
