I was 171 when I started, now 149 and will never stop running (if I can help it  ). I took it slow and really listened to what my body was telling me. Also, a good pair of running shoes makes a world of difference. I recommend getting fitted for a pair if you decide you love running!!!

Just count your calories. You do not have to give up white rice at all. I grew up in a community with a very dominant Asian culture and I have heard many of my friends speak the same way about being accustomed to eating rice with every meal. As long as you are accurately accounting for what you are consuming you will be…

Will try for sure, thank you for sharing.

Some of these are great! I/I've 1.Stopped asking the kids to help me unload groceries from the car, usually takes me several trips 2. Park uber far from the doors of the grocery store, and always walk my cart back to the store....I don't use the little designated cart areas in the lot 3. Pre log and pack my own lunch for…

1.) Have totally had this happen. 2.) Am super jelly that you already had your turkey dinner whilst I still have several weeks to wait. :s

^^^ This. When I first started using my Fitbit, I was uncomfortable with the drastic calorie adjustments I was getting because I had my activity level as sedentary. I bumped it up to lightly active and now I pretty much only see adjustments from intentional exercise.

I used to feel like I couldn't run. Now I feel like I cannot NOT run. :p

Wow!! Amazing accomplishment!!

I'd ask him to change the oil in my car. WWYD if the song "Achy Breaky Heart" was stuck in your head for the rest of your life?
-
I'd grab my 308 and answer the door. WWYD if your fax machine at work started spitting out $100 bills?

Me too. It reminds me of a delicious lunch my mom used to pack for me in Elementary School, but she just used to cram it into a plastic bag. I bet it's much tastier crammed in a mug.

Packing a lunch is key for me. I usually have a salad, or 1/2 sandwich and fruit, or cottage cheese and fruit. I like to eat a good sized supper, so I try to keep my cals pretty reasonable for lunch.

I made this tonight and it was fabulous!! Next time I will garnish with the shredded Swiss cheese because it kinda clumped up on the bottom of the pot (probably something I did). My family hates soup and loved this, clumps and all!!

Chances are, those runners think what you're doing is awesome! When I first started running, I had an 80 year old man blaze past me on the trail. At first I was kinda butthurt, but he turned around and gave me a thumbs up and I felt really encouraged to keep going. Just keep on keeping on!! And good luck with your running,…

This used to be one of my faves when I was in my twenties! Totally used to gross all my friends out. Also chicken corn chowder cold from the can. Hey, I had to save my money for beer back then. Ha! These days I just really enjoy making my family squirm by dipping my grilled cheese in ketchup and eating liverwurst…

You are absolutely right to not add it. MFP does it for you. My resting calories are about 1440, so yes, over 1000 is quite believable.

Stick with it!!! I did the same app in January and had great success with it. I had not run a mile since I was a freshman in high school and that was 19 years ago, lol!! Since then I've run five 5K races, a 6k and have registered for my first 10k at the end of the month. It is one of the best things I have ever done for…

+1 for races. 5k, 10k and am currently training for a half. I've been trying to keep myself registered for one at all times even if it's several months out. Keeps me training :drinker:

Only been using a few days and it's pretty fun, even though I have no idea what I'm doing. (Hubs is trying to help me). Name is same as on here!!

This post is the perfect example of why I choose to rock MFP solo. Now please excuse me, I have a box of wine to finish.

No need to feel guilty for going over on your fat intake for one day, but need to shoot for getting closer to your calorie goal every day. Maybe try pre-logging your meals so you can play with the numbers and spread your calories out throughout the day and balance your macros a little bit better? I log at night in bed for…
