  • I think about all the years in my life where I gained and didn't even care. I still have until December, so I've started pushing hard again, but I'm still around 30 pounds down in 8 months. 32 pounds lost is a big deal. Congrats!
  • Congrats you look awesome!! Definitely friending you : )
  • Yup, just one opinion. To the OP, I love the roman numeral idea! I definitely plan on a few tattoos when I shrink. Go for it, it's a big deal and deserves to be remembered since it's a huge accomplishment.
  • I'll echo that they are high in sugar--I was surprised. I tried a few other ones just to see if I liked the brand, which I do. I've heard really good things about the green machine one. It's supposed to taste really good. I haven't tried it yet, but sometime soon I will.
  • Instead of popcorn, try popchips. Instead of candy, go for chocolate covered pretzels. Both are tasty, satisfying and surprising low in calories. I often will take fruit or veggies if I'm trying to be really good, but those two options won't break the calorie bank either. Have fun at the movies!
  • You look great! Boxing is such a fun workout!
  • Yup, just did the same thing this past week. But the jeans I found stretch out so quickly that I need a belt by the end of the day. Never thought I'd be annoyed that I bought jeans with a lot of stretch haha.
  • I log everything. It's like a slap in the face to do better. That I gave myself lol
  • I was a normal weight until my parents divorced when I was 10. I used food to bridge the gap in my family by often eating twice, once with each parent. One ate healthy and one didn't, so I definitely know which eating habits I adopted as I got older. I got teased a lot in middle school, but kept gaining weight steadily…
  • I know I'll definitely have loose skin when I'm done losing weight, and initially was afraid of it. But then I decided to not use it as an excuse. Ever since my first stretch mark has popped up BECAUSE of losing weight, I have been ecstatic! It means I'm losing weight, losing fat and getting smaller. Now every time I see…
  • Personally I like meat, but by no means do I think it is essential. For me, it's the best vehicle for protein (and delicious) since I'm so on and off again with beans and in general I don't like fish. I sometimes use protein powder and I know it's in all other sorts of foods (yogurt, nuts, etc.). I think it's a personal…
  • I used to have that same problem that I would either eat way too many bad calories or not enough healthy ones. I'm still figuring out to make it happen more often, but have learned how to make it happen. I agree, every meal and every snack, needs to have a protein. I like to make it a requirement to have a protein plus a…
  • 40 pounds by August for my brother's wedding. It'll be hot out and I wanna look great in my dress
  • Just find a way to love them without dropping all that money on premade shakes. I would suggest trying some different ones, move on if you hate the taste. If you hate the texture, try to make them a different way. I loath cooked carrots and any type of steamed greens, but I love them all raw. Try to mix them into other…
  • This. In fact the dietitian I went to see had several great reviews on yelp (kind of weird I know), but she had helped people of different ages, different disorders and different genders. I highly recommend going to see a dietitian, just having someone tell you you can do it and who is supportive is more helpful than you…
  • If I'm kidnapped by some evil dude, I want to be hot enough to draw him in with my feminine wiles. And then a fit badass so I can kick his *kitten* to get away.
  • I started on the treadmill too, and honestly often times I like to go back to it. It's kind of great in fact. You can walk, run or climb hills with that thing. Drink water, eat as healthy as possible, stay within your calories most days and hop on that treadmill!
  • I use TDEE (in place of a roadmap), and am a bit more active than you OP, but I calculated for both and split the difference. Most days I'm below the sedentary setting, but I'm sure that will change as I lose more. If you aren't sure try one and if it doesn't work for you try the other. Although, my guess is that you…
  • Feel free to friend me as well. I started a couple months ago at 274, and happily already down to 254. I log in everyday and would love for some more friends that have a long journey like me.
  • Been struggling a bit as well. I'm aiming for 15, although 20 would be a happy surprise. Count me in!
  • I lost weight about three years ago, and I think at about 35-40 pounds down and the pain magically went away. I'm sure this is different for everyone, but that's how it went for me. My knee pain came from a family game of softball 3-4 years ago where I hit the ball and got so surprised my body turned to run and my left…
  • You look great and have come so far! I'm having half of a bad day as well. Not too many sweets, so tempting though. I skipped the gym today as well when I shouldn't, but I came to the same realization. One bad day is only one. It won't be the case tomorrow and it wasn't the case yesterday, so it won't bring me down. Thanks…
  • At TJ's I love the California Complete Protein bread. I think it's 80-90 cal a slice. Also from Sprout's I like the Omega-3 bread or the Oat Bran which are 65/60 calories. Sandwiches are great, PBJ is classic but I love any type of meat/cheese combo or sub out cheese for some avocado.
  • This. I was eating far below my tdee and just recently upped my calories and dropped more weight almost instantly. Add patience and you're doing it right.
  • I used to think that as well since the free weights are in an all mirrored area. The other day I was working my arms and there were a bunch of people in the gym (fit dudes included). I had been watching myself kill my triceps extensions and I felt like I was getting a couple looks and looking in the mirror I had just…
  • I'll typically have a treat meal once a week. It's not a reward, but a way to ease me into healthy eating and honestly it keeps me sane. Sometimes since I have to wait all week for it to roll around and during the week I get cravings, I'll have something small to keep me from getting so obsessed with a bad food and hitting…
  • I usually do carrot sticks since they're crunchy. If I really gotta have something like the real thing, pop chips it is. Also dying to try kale chips, they're on my short list to try.
  • Lose 40 pounds total by my brother's wedding in August and look nice and feel confident in a summer dress.
  • I used to work at a big chain restaurant, and the servers never know calorie counts. It's also not their job to know. It is however their job to know what other things you can sub out for that side of fries you don't want. Big chains will most always have it posted online, and sometimes they have a nutritional guide…
  • I am having the same problems lately. I usually plan a splurge meal for the weekend, but then sunday breakfast happened and so did a cousin's birthday dinner out. I think it gets easier with time, and planning definitely helps. As for pancakes/ waffles, I eat them but typically make them myself with oats, whole wheat…
