Weekends can be tough. I usually just try to go easy on breakfast and lunch and then indulge at dinner. Or....if I know something is coming up, I try to plan around it. As far as pancakes or waffles go, I eat them. Just one, and I enjoy every bite. No sense in torturing ourselves. I think it's important to make healthy choices, but I don't think that we should lead a life of deprivation. Moderation seems to be the key.

I feel ya. I didn't do too bad, but still...the few extra things I eat and drink tend to put me over. Especially adding in a few beers. And only so much running or exercise I feel like doing.

    Tough, tough, tough.

That said, I do MUCH better than I used to. Even though I threw in a milk shake, one dinner out for pizza and wings, and several beers, I compensated in other meals and did try to get out and at least walk. I also didn't eat and drink as much of the "bad" food and drinks as I used to, so moderation does help.

I am having the same problems lately. I usually plan a splurge meal for the weekend, but then sunday breakfast happened and so did a cousin's birthday dinner out. I think it gets easier with time, and planning definitely helps.

As for pancakes/ waffles, I eat them but typically make them myself with oats, whole wheat flour, flax and almond milk. Still super tasty without the guilt.
This is the recipe I love

I try to mix a good with a bad. if I have pancakes/waffles then I use sugar free preserves instead of syrup. If I serve burgers it is with carrot chips and hummus instead of fries. Little things like this keep me on track. Oh yeah, my long on run on Saturday morning helps too ;-).
