I don't know hoe to explain it to well either. I just tried it and it actually worked. i recommend giving it a shot before shooting it down. its a great way to curb cravings and stick to your diet.

Ok, so Saturday is around the corner yet again and I was wondering what I should indulge in? I pretty much satisfied my Oreo fix last Saturday and I'm already going to be getting wings for dinner. What craving should I choose to satisfy? Ice cream Sundays? Chocolate bars? Reese's? Hmmm... Maybe cannolis?

Definitely meant 12000, haha. I call my cheat day faturday

well i'm not trying to force it. its just a side effect from drinking a lot of water. drinking a lot of water keeps you feeling full and also helps boost your metabolism and helps muscles recover faster from workouts. i always try to drink at least 100 oz a day at minimum to make sure I'm always fully hydrated. especially…

Exactly why I drink a very excessive amount of water each day. To avoid shrinking my stomach so I can still eat a lot without getting so full I feel sick. I honestly feel like I got limitless room when I don't drink a ton of water, lol

Of course, just start out small with something your comfortable with. There's no need to rush into a cheat day if you think it may cause you problems. Like I said before, it may not be for everyone. All I know is that it's great for me and fits my lifestyle perfectly. Just be happy with your diet. Thats all you have to…

I never restrict myself on the healthy eating days. I just eat a lot more vegetables that are very low in calories and a good chunk of protein for dinner. That way I still get vary full for very few calories. I also drink a couple gallons of water throughout the day which helps curb hunger as well.

Usually a couple calzones, 1.5lbs of wings, onion rings, fries, Hersey bars, Oreos, fruit and veggies, pasta, pizza, frozen yogurt and other various frozen dessert treats. And yes, that's all in a day. Also cookie dough. Love cookie dough.

Inspiration right there! ^

I actually recently had surgery on my neck and couldn't work out for about a month. I actually lost weight faster in this time for some reason. even with the cheat day. not too sure why though. maybe it had something to do with the medication i had to take after the surgery or something.

I've taken to calling them "Metabolism boost day," or "Metaboost day" for short. i figure "how is it a cheat day if I'm still losing weight?"
-
I get what you are saying, and this is great advise. I feel as though I've found a good relationship with how i eat at this point though. I do also fit in healthy foods like fruit and vegetables on my cheat days along with my ice cream. though i eat the ice cream by the carton... i do feel energized for the entire wrek…

I also said it may not be for you if you don't like cheat days, but it is true that I can only speak for myself. I also have roughly a 3000 calorie deficit by Saturdays (not including the 3500 weekly deficit to lose 1 lb) from working out since i wait to eat back the burnt calories on my cheat days

I agree, and i used to take the whole discipline approach at first too. I just do this now because I've made a lot of progress and it really does make me happy. being able to go to a buffet with all my friends (who are still rather large) and eat the things i used to eat when i was younger without worrying about…

I felt the same way at first, but that's a good feeling. It'll keep you from cheating 2 days back to back. Eating healthy became such a strict habit of mine that i get a certain feeling that always prevents me from breaking down on any day other than cheat day.
-
check out my pages blog and you'll get an idea of just how all out i go on these cheat days. they're usually AT LEAST 8000 calories. just eat healthy and exercise regularly on the other 6 days a week.
-
I like the philosophy there. also, i usually have a smaller body fat % after these "cheat" days
-
That is why I never did this at first. I waited until I made eating healthy a habit. Now i always hesitate at the beginning of my cheat days, and it's that hesitation that prevents me from going past the one day with it.
-
If you want to get an idea of just how all out and overboard i go on cheat day, just check my blog. You may be amused, lol. cause i dont think many people truly go all out the way I try to
-
ya, I remember i started doing these cheat days because i broke down on a 3 day weekend and ate SOOOO MUCH! a few days later i had the courage to weigh myself and i lost weight, haha
-
I usually do it to avoid addiction. you should try buying only the amount you want to eat. that way, once you eat it on cheat day, its all gone so you don't worry about breaking down during the week. I shop for cheat day either in the early morning of cheat day or the night before and only buy what i will eat that day.
-
You should throw in a cheat day once a week to boost your metabolism. Eat a few thousand calories over once a week and about a few days later you should weigh less due to the boosted metabolism, healthy eating, and little exercise.
-
It's suppose to be an all day, all out, binge! honestly, if your having under 8,000 calories then your doing it WRONG! I have around 12 calories every Saturday and three days later, I weigh about 1lb less than what I weighed before the cheat day. The point is to put your body into shock and make it work overtime. One…

And no, none of this was forced down just for the sake of satisfying a craving. I was legit hungry And ate all of it, feeling fully satisfied. Especially after seeing I lost weight. I bet my body never expected a weekend like that.

Ok, so I've been dieting ever since I was 256 lbs and now I am around 150 lbs, and I never really had cheat days except on holidays. Now I've been at a platau for about 4 months and I think this whole cheat day thing could help me out. Basically, I'm going to be following something similar to the spike diet. I will…

I figured you meant to say something other than that, haha. But I think I'm gonna stick with the massive amount of wings. It's no joke come wing night. That and I still to have healthy "heavy" meals, they just always tend to be a different mix of the same ingredients every night since.
-
Haha, so true

I'll give it a watch
