  • Thanks for posting this. I have reached my main weight loss goal and been keeping steady. Recently, under several changes in y life, I been stress eating like crazy! I even had T.O.M twice this month! I been on MFP for a year and its been a wonderful help to my eating habits. Lately, I am worried about going backwards.…
  • Not necessarily. My husband is a great tennis player and is training for a Marathon upcoming this fall. Despite all his exercise efforts, he has an obese stomach. His arms and legs looks muscular, defined and sexy! But his middle sticks out like a water melon. He has lost weight being on the Abs diet in the past. He really…
  • Oily skin isn't all that bad. It prevents wrinkles. Just keep washing your face with special cleansers like Neutrogena.
  • Yes, well sort of. I went to my family reunion and my Mom was kind of put out that I was wearing shorts. She said at least you look good in them. They are my old shorts that I had when I was single and in my 20s, size 9 juniors. (I am going to turn 42 next month.) My great aunt in her late 80s said I look like a teenager!…
  • Muscle weighs more than fat. If you are loosing visible inches then, congratulations! Your doing something right.
  • (Bump) Life has just got hectic with work and after school activities. So hard to plan meals. I been trying to go to bed early and wake up early to exercise. Its the only "me" time these days.
  • I got some jiggly parts too in my lower areas. Try squats and light dumbells. I find that my biceps are strong but my triceps are weak. Maybe check out DVDs that involve circuit exercises with light to heavy dumb bells. Also pilates is a great way to tone also.
  • For the most part it looks great! I should take lesson from you. Sunday night you bombed with those chicken wings. Tuesday night you had 1/4 of Pizza Hut cheese pizza for "desert" after eating a dinner - that is not good. If you were hungry after eating the veggie burger, I would do light popcorn in the evening. But for…
  • Thanks, no excuses! You sound like your in the same boat as me! I also notice the difference in running on pavement vs. soft ground. Unfortunately the soft places are limited where I live. Going to have to make effort to get creative with time and busy schedule.. I do have a treadmill at home but its just not the same as…
  • Thanks, Reedmylips! I might try Sketchers Shape-Ups. I like Rebook Zigs. As with any shoe, the elasticity wears down and we are back to buying cushion shoes. Thanks to all of these replies! Lots of good advice! Some I already knew, some I didn't but makes since.
  • THE KEY IS PORTION CONTROL. If stopping yourself eating after a certain time works - go for it!!!!! Its about portion control and its something I should practice because I almost always go over my limit.
  • For carb munchies: air popcorn or thin crackers (paper thin) 12 calories for one big piece. Most of these thin, low calorie crackers or tea biscuits can be found in the Ethnic food section of the grocery store. My favorite are products from Norway. Low sodium, low calorie. Not like the excessive sweet and salty, big fat…
  • I have weak knees because of severe chondromalicia (loss of pad cushion behind my knee caps.) My knees get irritated if I run on hilly surfaces or hike on steep inclines. I got a DVD designed by a pilates, physical therapist and massage therapist called "Save you Knees" by bodyinsight.com Your suppose to do it every other…
  • It makes me constipated bad in the past. But I learned you drink lots of water.
  • Don't forget edamane and soy products like tofu and veggie burgers.
  • Are you a vegetarian for a reason? I am not a vegetarian, but I go vegetarian quite often because Its not hard to get a daily dose of protein. But if you are a strict vegetarian, be careful not to get deficient. I know a strict vegetarian who is over weight a little but she slim down some what after exercising regularly.…
  • Glad to know I am not the only one with a butt problem. Thanks for sharing! Now if the clothing industry would just make clothes to fit us small waist and BIG BUTT women!
  • I have a desk job too. Keep exercising because your heart depends on it.! I read some where that you can die early from a sedentary life style. So exercise is so important to me when I am off work. Also take frequent breaks from your desk to prevent stiffness in muscles. Circulation is the key to keep your muscles healthy…
  • Have you notice the green button below your food diary that says something like "click here when your diary is complete?" When you click it after your finished for the day, it calculates and says "if you eat like this every day for 5 weeks, you will weigh this ___" I go by that sometimes.
  • Awesome! I can tell a difference! Keep up the good work!
  • I heard that Runner's World had an article about that in the June issue. I haven't read it myself as I am not really a runner anymore. You might do a search on Runner's World website.
  • I don't know. I tried it too for a short period of time. I would think it will help keep your muscles strong. I had to quit running last year because of "runner's knees," It actually turned out to be severe chondromalica (no cushion pad behind my knees.) So I won't ever be a serious runner again. But I stayed in shape…
  • Getting married? Congratulations!!! Stress eating? Turn up the radio and jam!
  • Not silly at all. It could be a number of things. Lack of water can cause muscle cramps - in this case drink a yogurt smooth, protien drink, small chocolate milk, pickle juice, or cherry juice. That is for good muscle recovery. Lack of stretching after working out - not doing it immediately while your muscles are warm.…
  • It can happen. Best advice: drink plenty of water. If your in hot weather, drink more than usual. Water is what flushes it all out.
  • Does nicotine gum help? Just wondering. I know people say to "stay busy" but when you sit behind a desk all day at work and you are suppose to concentrate because that is your job, its hard to not think about cravings cause your bored. For me diet soda is my addiction. It does not cause me to gain weight and I have lost…
  • Try experimenting with self tanning lotions now to achieve a similar color with your tanned skin. Do it know so you know what would look good by next month. Good luck!
  • Look for the "Guiltless" entrees. The have a halo symbol next to that food item. Suppose to be under 700 calories. I like the chicken sandwich with steamed broccoli. Enjoy!
  • Majority of calorie counts are accurate. Every once in a while I catch some that are not. I know some of these because i read labels before I buy stuff at the grocery store. Sometimes I check out restaurant web sites to see nutrition, however, a recently heard on the radio that many restaurants are off by 100 calories…
