Feel like a teenager again....has this happened to you?

So let me give you some background. I am 31, have been on a "diet" my entire adult life and have NEVER gotten to my so-called "goal weight". I've never even gotten into the normal weight range for my height. I've gotten close a couple times, but I'd get to a point, I would plateau, get depressed, and then eventually gain the weight back again.
This last time, I decided to to Weight Watchers and I lost 22 pounds since starting in May. I also started running and now run an average of 25-30 miles a week. All of sudden my weight loss stopped, I gained to pounds. I tried to eat better and run more and the scale was just stuck.
I decided to finally figure out what was going on so I switched to counting calories and found MFP. When I started, I realized that on weight watchers I had been Netting about 600-800 cal. a day with all the running - WAYYY too low. So I've been tracking my calories for a week and always try to net above 1300.
Magically, within a week I lost the 2 pounds I had gained and lost 3 more as well!!!! Not only that, but my running has become much easier because I have more energy, I have a bounce in my step that I didn't have before. I stopped having circulation problems (I was getting tingling sensations and numbness in my fingers and toes).
The only downside is, since my metabolism kicked into gear, my skin has gotten much more oily than it was - reminds me of when I hit puberty. I have 2 pimples (I don't think I've had one of those in a decade). I'm still eating whole, healthy foods (fruits and vegetables dominate my diet). I know this is a "good" sign that things are working in my body, but I hope it doesn't stick around forever.
Has anyone experienced this after raising their metabolism? Does it eventually even out or will I have to rethink my skin regime? Right now it's not so bad (it's actually kind of funny) - but I can see it getting a little annoying. Still, I've never been this thin since I was a child - I'm only 2 pounds away from being in the normal weight range and I'm SUPER happy
Thanks!!

HEY! now that you mention it, i have been experiencing the same problem! i used to net the same amount of calories as you, (eating disorder, awful i know) but not i am very committed to just being healthy and fit, and also bringing myself up to a healthy weight by eating more calories. my skin isn't horrible, but i have noticed 1 or 2 blemishes here and there! i guess it's signs of my body flourishing and kicking into gear...
i use an exfoliating wash in the shower and clean and clear's "persa-gel" which i find works really great. i also use a little moisturizer and wash my face after each workout. its been helping, most definitely!0 -
I am not dealing with the oily skin issue, but I will be 40 in October and I feel like a 20 year old trapped in a 40 year old body. I have more energy now after losing 52 pounds than I ever remember having in my life. It is an amazing feeling!!0

My skin got really bad when I started on here. I think exercise and sweating does cause more skin problems. You need to make sure you wash straight after exercise. My skin is definitely greasier, though. I don't have an answer to that one. Maybe it's a good thing.0

Yes, well sort of. I went to my family reunion and my Mom was kind of put out that I was wearing shorts. She said at least you look good in them. They are my old shorts that I had when I was single and in my 20s, size 9 juniors. (I am going to turn 42 next month.) My great aunt in her late 80s said I look like a teenager! My size 9 junior shorts are short, but they are not short enough to be daisy dukes. I also wore my snugged silhouette top.0

Oily skin isn't all that bad. It prevents wrinkles.
Just keep washing your face with special cleansers like Neutrogena.

well the same thing happened to me too. i was consuming around 1200 calories and i was happy with my weight loss. then i saw a lady on mfp who claimed she had lost 5 kgs in a month. at that time i had no idea about the "starvation mode". i started consuming 700-800 calories and would burn almost all of them by exercise. i lost 1 kg in the first week, but dramatically i gained 2 kgs within 3 days which was unbelievable. i strated suffering from severe constipation because of the lower metabolism. it has been 21 days since i have been sticking to a deficit of 1000 calories and i have lost 3.5 kgs so far. and just like you i am feeling more healthy, i need less exercise and i can eat more but my skin is oily too but the difference is that mine has been oily from the beginning. search it online i thinik you need to re adjust your food combination. thanks0

This happened to me when I started exercising but they eventually subsided. So yes, I can relate to this one! At least they didn't keep coming in, so hopefully yours will vanish soon too.0

Thanks for the tips
Losing weight is fun, isn't it?!
In my research, I saw that with an increased metabolism, in addition to the increased appetite and energy, also comes increased libido, we emit more pheromones (hee hee) - so yeah, I guess we can feel like teenagers, and look like them too0
