  • I have found rest/recovery weeks to be essential. Your body needs that time to rest and repair - especially after resistance work. Yes, I would recommend that you still log your food, and do some kind of light, stretchy workout, just to keep your muscles limber. You'll find that when you get back into it, you'll feel…
  • Cut down on the sweets and avoid fast food. That'll go a long way toward getting you on the right track.
  • To be honest, the best thing that has helped me is to cut down on the carbs/starches. When I eat less starches, my craving for sweets goes way down. And it works the other way too - when I eat fewer sweets, I don't crave the starches as much! Try it and see what happens!
  • Welcome! You are welcome to add me as a friend. It's been a long time since I've had a baby, but I have put on excess weight anyway, and I'm trying to get it off and keep it off. It is good to have someone to encourage you on your journey, so welcome to MFP! Have a blessed day!
  • MyFitnessPal has been very helpful to me, and you are free to add me as a friend for support! Just keep logging on, and it really helps to know how many calories you're consuming and how many you're burning each day. Welcome, and happy losing!:flowerforyou:
  • Wow, good job! I've been doing P90X for over a year, and I love the results. Just keep pushing Play!!
  • It keeps going down. It was 180, then 170, now it's 160 - and soon it'll be 150! :flowerforyou:
  • I've found that Core strengthening exercises really help in the waist area. I'm battling fat in that area as well - but I'm over 50 and post-menopausal, so it's a lot harder for me to lose any weight, much less all the fat that's settled in the middle! But it's slowly coming off as I do my P90X and really toning up my…
  • Feels awesome, doesn't it? And that's more important than whatever the scale tells you!
  • I'd like to come on board! Always can use more friends who know where our real strength lies!
  • I could use encouragement as well! I don't get on here every day like I want to, but I'm on here often enough. Feel free to add me as well. I've only lost 3 lbs so far, and am having a hard time getting over "the hump." I'm only trying to lost about 12 more, but I keep so busy that I forget to eat right! We can all…
  • You can ABSOLUTELY do it! I'm a 51-year-old, post-menopausal, grandmother of 8, and I'm doing it - so I know you can! All it takes is determination and a goal. You have both - so go for it! :-)
  • I eat the Pure Protein High Protein Bars. They have several different flavors, and have 20g of protein, 0g trans fat, and only 2g of sugar. They really keep me going between meals.
  • The first time I did the 30-day shred workout, I thought I was going to DIE for the next few days - I was SO sore! And that was just level 1! It is a good workout, though. I have since been doing P90X - which is seriously harder - and am in the middle of my 4th 90-day cycle. Whatever workout you do - just be committed!…
