Nice - going to check these out later!

Squats leave me crippled for two days - minimum.

You've already gotten some great advice here. I agree with the running shop as a great starting point. Most runners are very supportive of each other and especially newer runners. We all started somewhere and we all know the challenges you meet as a runner both new and seasoned. A decent running shop will analyze yout gait…

Ahhh sodium, the bane of my existence. It eventually finds me no matter how healthy I try to eat each day... hides in nearly everything!

Enjoy it! The best piece of advice I got form my coach before my marathon was to "behave." What he meant by that was to start off slower than you normally would and about halfway through slowly start to pick up your speed to your comfortable running pace for the last mile or half mile. This way you will finish strong -…

Thank you for sharing this - I absolutely love it!

Kimmers, I learned most of what I now know from the women of the Eat more, weigh less group. http://www.myfitnesspal.com/groups/home/3817-eat-more-to-weigh-less

Shoot same here. Ugh, I hope they're not too many cals!

Flaxseed helped me with this issue... Ever since I added it to my diet, I went from every few days to a very predictable daily schedule. I thought this change was strange since I have had this issue for years and so I googled "flax constipation" and sure enough it's a home remedy for it. Maybe a little TMI, lol, but hope…

I like air popped pop corn - and it's a whole grain! I almost always will also add some veggies for variety - usually chopped celery and carrots. Love some pumpkin seeds too!

I don't count my tea as water, but I do log it. I'm about to make a cup of anise tea for the first time. I had no idea they made it and I love eating anise so it should be good!

I always have water on me when running on the treadmill at the gym or outdoors on my own. At the gym I use my water bottle and on a trail (or any distance run) I use a fuel belt. The only time I won't run with water or a sports drink is when it is an organized run. They typically will have enough water on the course.

You are amazing and such an inspiration! You literally transformed your body. Great job! :)

I am a woman and I squat Volkswagens.

When I run long distances on my own, I wear a fuel belt to hold my bottles and it had pouches similar to this one: http://www.google.com/products/catalog?oe=utf-8&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a&q=hydration+belt&um=1&ie=UTF-8&tbm=shop&cid=1066980932083774802&sa=X&ei=FvCyT5nmEqr86gGTvLmsCQ&ved=0CMcBEPICMAE…

I have them all in a box, waiting for the day I have enough time to make a running scrapbook. :)

To clarify - I normally wouldn't have a response like that, but this one caught me off guard and I couldn't believe the audacity. Maybe I stooped to her level, but she sure as hell deserved it. She's lucky she didn't end up wearing my lunch. :)

Clearly this guy is miserable with himself. There's a ton of people like that around here that are rude. In fact, the other day i got called a fatass by a girl who was BIGGER than me! Can you imagine?? It went down like this: I was waiting for my car at a parking garage. Getting some lunch in while running in between…

I think that alone is ok, as long as you're feeding your body well after your workout and throughout the rest of the day.
-
OMG you're my hero. lol

Hah!

This. Absolutely. You have one life to live and it is yours. Your significant other should support you and push you to meet your goals, not sabotage them. I'm not going to offer advice on the relatipnship as I'm not in the relationship, but you need to look long and hard at what makes you happy. Whatever that is - do it.…

Love pizza... I ate it every single day, followed by gelato the last time I went to Italy. To make it worse, living in NYC there is a mom and pop pizzeria almost every block who will sell you pizza by the slice. It's hard to find bad pizza here. It's no wonder staying slim is a challenge in this damn city!

My frying pan. Fried zombie tastes great and is low fat.

Exactly this! Well said.

I see it this way - 1. You have nothing to lose right now since you are just out of school. 2. You were planning to start new somewhere anyway, why not there. 3. To piggyback on the above, atleast you will know him. Somewhere else, you will not know anyone. 4. Only you know deep down if it's right or not. The fact that…

CNN no longer offers the studio tour in NYC, but if you're interested in that type of thing, NBC studios has one.

I live in NYC and could recommend a TON of things to do. Feel free to friend me and let me know what types of things you like so I can make better suggestions.
