Just wait until you start menopause and you have the bloating as well as all the other lovely symptoms. It doesn't get better, trust me! lol

First let me say that you are carrying that weight and measurements very well; I would have thought you were much, much thinner, my friend! Since you already have swimming and pole dancing (lol) on your agenda, I'm going to challenge you add planks to your fitness routine. Work your way up to a 2 minute plank. I'll do it…

The best advice I can give you is to slow down your pace; perhaps not worry so much about the 5K until you can walk with confidence, without holding on. If you are serious about running/jogging, I would recommend that you go to a running store that has a treadmill and have them do a "test walk" to see if you need different…

What a great post! Thank you so much for sharing your story so far! Can't wait to read the next chapter! How is your wife doing with her "living"????? So nice that she has been beside you; having a supportive partner makes all the difference even if, in the long run, it is up to you!

Good question! On my Spark site, other members are great about posting their goal weights and the reward they will give themselves. My problem is I treat myself no matter what! Maybe that's one of the reasons I'm not losing (and gaining- lol). I'm starting a new challenge on that site soon, and I will be required to set…

Have you just eliminated bread, or all grains? I noticed a considerable decrease in bloating/puffiness when I cut them out in December; I have eaten both all my life and never felt I was gluten intolerant or any type of allergy. I went back to them after a month, and i sadly can see the bloating and craving returning. I am…

Tracking your steps is a great tool, but I wouldn't count it in my exercise minutes unless you are out for a fast paced walk and your heart is pumping!!! Lucky you that you aren't stuck at a desk all day!

12 pounds in two weeks? That is an extremely high weight loss, even if it is water weight. I would think your body is now adjusting/trying to rebalance and you may even see a gain. Definitely look at your numbers again; follow the formula that the others have posted and readjust as needed. As a fellow scale addict, it's…

It could be any number of things! What was the last workout you did? Maybe go for a deep tissue massage and see what they say; don't wait too long like I did. Now I've got a mess on my hands; lots of pain, physical therapy and no treadmill or even outside walks. Forget running for now - this stinks! Feel better!

Gave it up completely while doing the Whole30 Dec. 3 - Jan. 3rd. The last week I "gave in" to that darn honey whiskey and I can already feel the negative effects on my body. So I'm going back to cutting it out altogether; during those 30 days I found it "forced" me into drinking my water, water, and more water! I slept…

I couldn't agree more! I fell in love with a man whose credit score I didn't know. Right before our marriage, he "revealed" the trouble he was in. I called off the marriage, worked with him to get him on track. I later married him, and for 20 years suffered the consequences of his financial irresponsibility. We are now…

Have you thought about getting a standalone one? We have a hanging one in the basement - I have never used it. It just seems like it is in the way of everything else in the workout room, and I always thought it would be nice to have one that can be moved much easier. I don't know how they compare, or what your set up, but…

Thanks everyone! I was out for a long training run, nearly 3 hours. I did forget to close out my other apps before starting out, so that's a definite must do. The screen was "off", kept in my running pack the entire run. I will try all your suggestions (except the new phone although I agree it does look pretty awesome)!!…

I don't think you would be wrong to drop her; I would be very straight forward with her and tell her how you feel about diet pills and the effects on her body. You have the right to expect honesty,

Hi - it's a great way to get exercise in, but definitely never go alone! My daughter and her husband were very active in it before she became pregnant with the twins, and I got started going with them. We had plans to go to Ireland this year on a geocaching adventure trip, but we found the twins early! lol I am a paid…

Good morning! Very powerful and motivational blog this morning! I'm with you on this journey; I believe we need to keep on supporting each other while following our own journey. My pledge is to take it "one day at a time" and try to simplify my life, allowing me to spend more time with the ones I love!!

Are you measuring for tracking, or to buy new bras? Did it myself and bought bras that just didn't fit right. Got measured at VS last week and went down in band size and up in cup size - a perfect fit. Just keep in mind that there are so many different styles of bras now - you really have to try each one on. For tracking?…

Great job on all that you have accomplished! Perhaps he is just feeling insecure and afraid of losing you once you do reach your goals - that is a pretty common reaction. Maybe try sitting down with him and telling him how much it hurts you to hear him say that, and that you really care about him and need his support. If…

Welcome aboard! You've taken the first step and it sounds like you have a plan in place despite a busy schedule at home. It's nice to hear you have your family's support. I've been up and down since joining, but continue to learn from the wonderful people you can meet on here. Beware of forums - some people can be very…

Oh you are a brave woman!!! I haven't even taken pics like these yet!! That said, I'm bummed that you don't want to do any more races, but everyone is different. Hopefully you will keep running though! ST is a definite and one thing I am still bad at getting done! I do like the Biggest Loser ST dvd's, and I bought the…

Sending you hugs and kudos at the same time!!! I lost my Mom at a young age to cancer, shortly after losing my Dad to another form of cancer. I miss them every day, but like you, it made me aware of where I was in my own journey and that change was needed. It was when I started my journey to become fit, figuring that if…

Hopefully your doctor has some idea? One suggestion - sodium levels. Drinking lots and lots of water tends to deplete our sodium supplies, and that can make you feel pretty wiped out.

I use my Bodyfit/Bodybugg device all day long - but do use my HRM for runs and other fitness activity!

I want to come across the pond and run with you!!! What fun!!!

One word ....SABOTAGE! These are typical conversations at my house: me: "Honey, I'm going to cut alcohol out of my diet and see if that helps". him: "Hey babe, I picked up your favorite wine to go with dinner tonight, and I bought chips and salsa, cheese and crackers to go with it" me: "I have to get my workout in this…

We never see the difference in ourselves!!! Thank goodness for MFPals - because we all see the changes you've made!!! What a great job you have done so far!!! Keep going - I'm so proud of you. Definitely take your measurements and have someone else take some full body pics for you.

Sounds like you already know the answer!!! I go back and forth with it, but I know that it is not helping me win this battle. I have set goals in the past, gone months without it and felt great, then find myself feeling totally stressed and wanting a glass of wine. Well, that seems to set the cycle in motion again : )…

Great motivation for all of us!! Thanks for sharing your story and photos - the changes are amazing!

Hips and thigh at your widest point. The waist is a bit trickier, especially for women. I have a very short trunk; my natural waist is much higher then my belly button. I measure at my natural waist, and take a second measurement at my belly button. No matter where I measure it - I don't like the results!!! : )

Choose your friends wisely, and don't hesitate to drop someone if they cross the line. You can report the activity, but if someone is intent on cheating/stalking, they are going to just come back with a new screen name. Still, there would be a trail, so I say take the time to do it. That said, there are good people on…
