  • I'm a perfect pear and I hear your pain. Like so many I have lost my 7 pounds first in my face and second in my chest. My 44" hips have barely moved down in size. I have watched very slim pear shaped women walk and realize that no matter how much weight I might lose I will always have those saddle bags that bunch up with…
  • Keep the faith...your loss is faster then mine, and I am a distance cyclist putting in over 90 miles alone on my road bike last week. I marvel at how the biggest losers can lose so much weight during a season. My only option is to continue no matter how slow or give up and watch my weight climb back up. I should be pencil…
  • I always use my Polar HR monitor. I learned long ago that everything, including the calories this site gives for exercise are over estimated. I have to adjust down daily, but knowing that my HRM is accurate helps. Best of luck.
  • I admire your courage to even ask for opinions after reading some of the replys back. Best of luck to you. I would however suggest going to NIH or the Mayo Clinic web site if you want to learn more about nutrition over Wickipedia.
  • I like long compresson shorts better then my bike ones since they don't have the padding. If they ride up then your size is way too big. I have never had spandex ride up on me...but then I have pretty good sized legs.
  • Spinning class or using a spin bike helps rejuvinate my legs and gets the edema out of the ankle area. It is hard to exercise on your feet when you stand on your feet all day too.
  • I'm also pear shaped and running is the hardest thing I do. I have head that running will melt that belly fat that I don't have. I am happy to have my legs firm up and don't worry too much about the overall size. Genetics gave me strong sound legs and I just have to work with what I have. Long distance cycling is what…
  • I am wondering the same thing. I did get credit for a deltoid exercise I did but that was the only one. You burn plenty of calories weight lifting. The system does let you keep track of machines and free weights it just doesn't give you extra calories. I would like to see this changed.
  • Good Luck to you all. Wish I could join you but the day I don't step on the scale I find I am up more then a few pounds. I can't explain it but I am with the person who stated that this is how he ended up the way he is. ;)
  • I only started to avoid soy when I was diagnosed with breast cancer. Up till then I used it on a regular basis. Eating soy had nothing to do with my contracting cancer but there is some concer since it is a plant estrogen about using it once diagnosed. I would not avoid it if I were you. It is a great source of protein. If…
  • I'm sorry to hear about your accident. I found after a snowmobile accident that left my right arm/wrist shattered that I just had to use the parts of my body that did still work. Once they repaired the arm with a bone donors bones and gave me an external fixator I was able to get out and about. You need to focus on what…
