i have a swelling disease in my legs so any beta-blocker that can cause swelling is a no-no for me. Which is every beta-blocker. the point of this is to ask what other lifestyle adjustments can i make to control this because going on medication is a last resort for me. certainly i'm not too out of shape but i'm wondering…

I am adopted so I don't know any family history of high BP. I went to my doctor and she gave me some some type of beta blocker and it caused my leg to swell up so I had to be taken off of it. So basically my options are a lifestyle change (which I have made by not smoking/drinking/eating healthy) or medications that cause…

I only use free weight (dumbbells) when I lift. I have a a set of each 5-50 pounds. If you google "dumbbell exercises" you'll get thousands of results for free weight work outs. You may have to dig around to find exactly what you want but I promise you the answers are out there. I am probably not getting the gains I could…

I have done 66 in a row but if i take a week off or so from doing them I will drop back down to about 40 in a row.

I just ordered it this morning and should have it this weekend so I am excited for it. I did p90x and p90x2 but I gained a little too much weight over the holidays so looking to trim back down. Now to convince my wife to join me...

Maybe I think more positive but when I see ripped guys in underwear commercials I want to work harder to be like them. Also, When I was 30 lbs overweight my collarbones stuck out. Collarbones =/= underweight.

7:30 wake up 8:00 - 5:00: work 5:00 - 6:00: work meetings 6:30- 7:30: work out 7:30 dinner 8-bedtime: whatever I want to do.

I'm certainly not judging you. I have coworkers who "never have time" yet when someone wants to go to happy hour they are there. When someone wants to go to the mall they will go. Then they complain about not getting in shape because they don't have time. You have to make time. Nothing in a normal routine is so important…

Any other well-endowed rich guys with enviable jobs and unlimited vacation time have a meal plan to share?

Do not like the southern accent. Do not think it's cute at all.

Been married five years. One joint checking account and joint savings/stocks/etc accounts. My thought truly is if you cannot trust your partner with money how can you expect to trust them with your house, children, or future? I never thought twice about it and until now it has never come up. I make about 40% more than her…

That's a good thing! When you can go a week without doing anything and feel fine you know you've stumbled too far. I haven't lifted since Saturday so I feel lazy right with ya.

Just a general question, but why are so many pretty girls stuck w/ d-bags?

It feels great to put that new suit on knowing you earned it. Ladies love it!
-
You need to buy a HRM with a chest strap (like the one in my profile picture). That's the only way to accurately gauge how much you are burning. Good luck!

I bought a new $1,500 suit I had my eye on for a year.

uhh... beers?

I ran five nights per week and ate well and lost a little weight. Then I hurt my knee, stopped running, and continued on the same diet. My weight loss progresses on the same path it did while I was running. When my knee got better I started lifting and realized lifting burns calories too (and more muscle continues to burn…

I think it's good you're willing to improve yourself for him. People on this site will tell you that's bad but anything you can do to improve your life and health is good in my book. Perhaps the relationship won't work out but in the end you'll find yourself on a path towards feeling better about yourself.

here is what I've realized... when you are in a public position within your small community you must be approachable at all times. Would you go to the store in PJs and an over sized tshirt if your bosses boss was going to be there? In small towns with very few people in prominent jobs that happens all the time. That's what…

Go back to 16 and get in the backseat of an Audi? :)

Walmart serves a purpose. It fulfills a need in our society. No one is arguing that. Here is a link with the average HH income for each store. http://www.foodnavigator-usa.com/Markets/What-s-the-difference-between-a-Walmart-shopper-and-a-Super-Target-shopper. It appears people are saying that the clientele Walmart attracts…

Walmart meeting minutes/reports have detailed a nationwide push to attract more middle to-upper middle income shoppers. That's a pretty good indication they know who their "typical shopper" is and are trying to change that. USDA reports show a direct relationship between income and weight. I live in a micropolitan area…

Apparently there is a backlash against stating the fact that a majority of Walmart customers are overweight (as it has been pointed out a majority of people everywhere are overweight). Are you mad at that fact or mad that people are pointing it out? The original point was that *for me* Walmart is more depressing than, say,…

I've never once heard that size referred to as small.

Holy crap you guys took one example and totally blew it out of proportion. Let's try this another way. Say you wanted to use less gas. A Fiat is going to use a lot less than a Cadillac Escalade. So if your one goal is to reduce gas usage it makes sense to switch. No one ever said the Fiat is better, or more stylish, than…
