Welcome to TIffers, Mandy, and Shaxianna! Nice to see some more new ladies in here. Kara, that is too funny about the Portuguese. Random! I'm sure the 6 lbs are just to do with your cycle. I don't think you could have actually gained 6 lbs in such a short time. I bet they'll drop off by your next weigh in. My mini-vacay…

That is fantastic!!! :)

I'm not taking it. My doctor is very supportive of trying non-medication methods of controlling my PCOS unless my labs go out of control.

I'm curious about the mini pill too, as I can't handle even the smallest amount of estrogen in regular pills. I've had some success with over the counter progesterone cream, but would love to hear people's experiences with the mini pill.

The chicken quesadilla sounds really good. I'm always looking for ways to get more protein in as I'm not usually a big meat eater. Thanks for the idea! Good job on thinking ahead for the retirement party too.

Hi Kara! I'm never very hungry in the mornings either. I really have to force myself to eat, especially if I've already had my coffee. I always feel better when I do though. How did it go with the Chinese food? ETA: Sorry I had to go back and edit all my posts to add people's names in. I thought it would do that…

Sounds so nice! Have a great time! I have 3 more work days until my mini vacation over the 4th. Already trying to think of how I can plan so that I don't blow the progress I've made so far. It will be a challenge for sure.

Welcome Louise! Sounds like you've made some great changes. I'm sorry that chocolate triggers your migraines. Wine triggers mine as well. Anyway, dark chocolate is good for us! I sometimes melt it on a gluten-free waffle for breakfast. Add some berries and YUM! :)

Good job not turning to the comfort food yesterday. Each time we resist that temptation, I think it makes us a little stronger for the next time. I'm Jen, by the way. :)

Love the idea! And I hear you on the spaghetti. I LOVE me some bad carbs! So hard to say no, but I don't love the way I feel after eating them.

Same here. I went off the pill 8 years ago, had no trouble conceiving thankfully, but have struggled with weight ever since my pregnancy. My hormones have really gone haywire. Part of it is my age (42), but I was recently diagnosed with PCOS. My doctor said she has never seen such cyst-covered ovaries. Lucky me! I'm having…

PPK is one of my favorites too. I also love http://ohsheglows.com/recipes/ and I make a lot of recipes from the Dr. Fuhrman and Dr. McDougall websites.

I used to tan until I lost a good friend to skin cancer at age 34. Nothing is worth that risk. Plus, you can always tell a woman who was a heavy tanner because they end up looking a good ten years older than their peers by the time they're in their 30's- 40's.

I like tall (6'3"-6-4") and athletic. Basically, Tom Brady is my ideal physical type.

Bumping for future reference. Thanks for all the great ideas!

I haven't heard these. Thank you so much for posting this though because I have a road trip coming up next week and need some good listening material! :)
-
Those look delicious! Thanks for sharing.

I don't remember seeing any in stores, but I'm sure they're out there. Chef Chloe has a recipe for them that I've been wanting to try. http://chefchloe.com/on-the-side/vegan-goldfish-crackers.html

MrsODriscoll, dates are a great idea for a sweet snack. Bilzprincess, I appreciate the tips on keeping sandwiches un-soggy. Thanks again to all of you. I feel like I'm ready to tackle this road trip now. Oh, and MIL said she's looking forward to trying some of my healthy food, so that's a plus. :)

Ditto the recommendations for a heart rate monitor. I burned 155 walking a mile this morning at an average pace of 3.5 mph, but it was hot out so my heart rate was a little higher than normal. I've burned fewer calories doing the exact same thing on cooler days. That's just an example of the different variables that make a…

I prefer unsweetened almond and hemp. The refrigerated coconut milk is good too. I haven't seen hazelnut around, but would love to try it.

I agree that it can and does go both ways. I just try not to discuss it, but unfortunately, especially as a parent, it does come up. I just got told (by my MIL) that we are "depriving" our son by not "letting" him eat fast food cheeseburgers. He's one of the healthiest kids I know and never liked junk food even…

That is such an awesome idea! You sold me at "no mess." (I have an almost 5 year old boy) Adding this to my list. Thanks so much. :)

Great suggestions, krjack. I especially love the olive tapenade idea. I'm planning on making some flaxseed crackers in the dehydrator. Those would go great with the tapenade if I made them with some Mediterranean herbs and spices. Maybe sundried tomatoes. Yum! The sweet potato chips too. I hadn't thought of that. I can…

From another article I just read about her. "When she arrived at seamstress Judy Goff's workshop, Eman layed out a spread of food from Carl's Jr., including three guacamole bacon cheeseburgers, two orders of chili cheese fries, nine tacos, a chocolate shake and a large Coke." This poor woman clearly has an illness. She's…

This is me too- exactly!! :)

Just tried these for the first time. Amazing! I had to keep reminding myself not to feel guilty for eating them. I used a bit of garlic powder and freshly ground black pepper. Delicious! Thanks for the recipe. :)

Same here. I personally think 2,500 is high. I can definitely feel/see a difference, and not a good one, when I go over 2,000.

Very interesting. I love coffee. I don't drink it sweetened, but I have definitely found that when I cut back on coffee and drink green tea instead, I lose more weight. I think you've got me intrigued enough to give it up for a month and see what happens. I hate to think of giving it up entirely, but if it's interfering…
