  • So many great ideas, thanks so much! :) I love the idea adding dressings.. I keep forgetting that salad doesn't always have to be lettuce based.. And dark chocolate does sound pretty wonderful! I just bought brown rice for the first time.. I am guilty of being super picky, I don't venture out very much to find new foods. I…
  • I understand my mistake.. when typing out the post, I didn't think it well enough out, and I don't mind it being pointed out.. There are just nicer ways of saying it. I didn't intentionally leave information out. I didn't mean to inconvenience anyone, and I am thankful for the suggestions even if I realized afterward that…
  • I feel like this is a very rude comment; I was obviously not clear enough, but I hardly think that makes me any less worthy of advice from the community. Also, I am unsure of what you mean by "self imposed restrictions". I apologize for lack of clarity. I have doctor recommendation to eat a diet similar to a diabetic (low…
  • I like a lot of those ideas, but I have to make sure that I am eating as low GI and unrefined as possible. I'm also mostly having an issue with eating that much food. I'm used to small amounts of empty calories.. Now I'm having to eat much more to get the calories in. Never thought I'd say that!
  • I think we can all agree.. PCOS sucks. I'm not trying low carb specifically, but more low GI and cutting out most refined sugars. Trying not to jump right into it, don't wanna scare myself back to junk food. Lol. I'll add ya :) anyone can feel free to add me too! Weight loss is so much harder for us, that darned insulin. :(
  • Gaining weight is always discouraging, but life happens. You can't regret putting your boyfriend first for a while in such a situation. You lot the weight once, and yes a portion is probably water retention, but you can definitely get there again!
  • I am in the exact same boat.. I was down 70 lbs and I've been up and down since, and getting close to gaining half back already. I did better when I had more support to 'remind me' if that makes sense! Edit: your weight loss meter made me giggle, love it!
  • That is definitely a realistic vacation goal - I always come back from vacation with a big weight gain. Vegas in February hit me with 6 lbs.. in 4 days! As for not having a time frame for your overall goal, that is probably the best way to go because you're focusing on the long haul and not a mad dash to a finish line.
  • I have a weekly "cheat meal" I guess you could say.. It started when I was in a weight loss challenge on Tuesday nights, where after our group we would go somewhere to eat and satisfy what we'd been craving all week. I'd originally managed to lose 70 lbs, but it's a slippery slope. I started dating someone who was also in…
  • It is definitely frustrating when you expect to lose weight and then you don't; but try to remember that you're on a long-term journey and not a crash diet. When you're not seeing results, just make sure that you are getting enough calories daily so that your body does not feel like it needs to hang on to the weight. If…
  • I put chia seed in protein shakes and I also bake them into low calorie/low sugar muffins. Absolutely makes a difference - helps me most with appetite, I am never tempted to snack during the days when I've had chia in the morning!
  • Try not to let a couple days of distraction affect your motivation. It is unrealistic to think that you will bring your A-game every single day for the rest of your life. The more you feel guilty about straying, the more likely you are to lose motivation and give up. I chose Thursday nights to eat whatever I want. For the…
