I love hiking! I hike mostly for the scenery and challenge, not for the fitness. However, it's pretty awesome to re-hike mountains that I struggled with and then fly up them the next time. I am blessed enough to live in New Hampshire, about an 1hour+ to the White Mountains. My profile picture is me atop Mount Monadnock…

Ice tea? Sparkling water with fruit essence? I like Poland Spring sparkling in all flavors. I never like water either but learned that I love it but only ICE cold.

OP: I feel you. I have been going through the same thing for years. All of my thyroid tests have come back within the normal range. I, like you, am probably eating more than I think. BUT, I am still eating much LESS than I was before and working out much MORE than ever. There should be a deficit regardless. I have been…

I love all the Vega Foods protein shakes. I add a cup of black coffee, some ice, coconut milk and a banana. Yum! I am drinking it right now. I am allergic to whey and I fell in love with this vegan brand (not a vegan).

I watched it and loved it!

I think both the MFP and the Fitbit overstates calorie burns. I usually divide their calculations in half.

Me too! Add away!

Did you use it? I am curious if you found it helpful. I am struggling with stress and insomnia. I just place my order. Thanks!

I can't imagine hiking a 14k footer! My goal is to start hiking my way to all 48 4kers in the White Mountains of NH this Spring!

I have the Flex and I have had the Ultra. I absolutely love mine. I find the step count and activity tracker to be very accurate.

Right. This isn't a community forum where we talk about issues with dieting. Rough morning? OP: I have IR and am on 1,000 mg of Metformin. My endo told me to try eat less than 100 grams of carbs a day and eat carbs/proteins on a 2:1 ratio. So for every meal if I have 10 grams of carbs, I should try to balance it will 5…

I just finished day one about 30 minutes ago. Thank God for the modifying lady! Add me if you would like:)

Yes, it is fat-shaming, IMO. I think it is pretty common. Some of it may be based on her hatred of once being so out of control or her weight. It could be based on her new found love of fitness. For me, it was based on fear. Paralyzing fear that if I wasn't vigilant, passionate and crazed over my weight I would gain it all…

I put "Amazing Grass" in my smoothies everyday. It does have a bit of a hay taste no matter what. I usually mix it with coconut milk, PB2 and frozen fruit. I don't mind it at all. Amazing Grass is full of a bunch of grasses (shocker:wink: ) I recommend it.

Chile Pineapple Pork tenderloin tacos. A side of refried beans. A green salad. It was delicious!

Don't email that person. That is all I can help you with. Good luck! My advice, I guess would be consistency. The clock starts over for me each time I am inconsistent, with my workout, my diet, ect. I usually see results in 6-8 weeks when I have stayed on program.

Hmmm. New Englander here:) There is 160 calories and 22g of carbs in 4 oz of Hood Light Egg Nog. DD small is a 10 oz cup from what I can find. So I figure 320 calories and 44 carbs with the shot taking up about 2 oz. I have a wicked problem with DD. I drink too much and they are everywhere!!

We are twins!!! I got my diagnosis last week too! Same story, lost a ton, and then hit a wall for SIX YEARS!! I tried eat more, eat less, run more, run less, fitbit, HRM, all of it! And nothing! I started the Metformin XR 1,000 mg last week and BAM!!! 7 lbs gone! I know my ticker says 2lbs but I didn't "man" up and add the…

I plan on making healthy choices. I do not intend to deprive myself. However, I will run in the morning and my shopping shenanigans on Friday will certainly burn some calories

You really should need to jumpstart your weight loss. If you haven't dieted in awhile the first couple of weeks of a standard healthy diet should work. Low carb should only be necessary if you have metabolic issues like insulin resistance, PCOS or diabetes. WHICHEVER diet you choose it must be a lifestyle change. You will…

5'4. My goal is 135-140. The lowest I ever weighed was 127. It was really too small for me and hard to manage. My goal weight should put me in to a size 4/6 and I would be thrilled! Right now I would kill to be an 8/10!

Feel free to add me :)

I agree with this completely. I was reading a thread here the other day and someone mentioned that "only" being 50-100 lbs overweight was average. That statement speaks volumes. This country has gotten so large that we have pushed the idea of what "obese" is too something that make us feel better. I have lost 41 lbs with…
