Try couch to 5k, google it and you will find the running plan. I did it, most people on here will recommend it. Good luck

Everyone tells me that you get less colds if you are a runner, I have been running for 6 months now and (touch wood) I have not a single cold yet but will wait for winter to kick and and really test this theory.

maybe have a week or two off calorie counting, you can still make sensible choices but dont stress about it. This is kind of what i did on holiday and since then the weights started shifting again.

I went on a run with a friend, we did her usual 5k route and ibstruggled, it took longer than the 5k mapmyrun told me when i run at home with my phone tracking it. I went onto my computer and calculated my normal route and it was about 0.5k short of what my phone said i was doing. Days before my first 5k race as well :-(.…

I was using map my run which tells you every mile what your pace is, BUT i have since realised it was inaccurate in calculating distance - must lose gps signal. Now i work out my route on the computer and time myself using my watch.

definitely run outside, much more rewarding

I have been working on speed since finishing c25k plus preparing for a 5k race next week... Once im happy with my time will think about working towards 10k

i had to repeat a few weeks and sometimes needed extra rest days because this was a massive shock to my body.. as long as you complete it i wouldnt worry about how many weeks it takes. Also, dont let the UK weather hold you back, I realised that I will have to run in the cold/rain because thats all we've had for months...…

Hi, i have just completed c25k, i always have a rest day after a run as it gives time for your body to recover before you go again. . Good luck its a great programme.

Planning my meals in advance has been key for me, especially when eating out I check out the menu/calories so that I can still enjoy a treat but keep within (or almost within) my calorie target.

Yes I am stretching after, I printed off some guidance from the NHS website about stretching exercises but focus on the leg area... maybe its not enough for me - I think I will have a look on the internet and see if I can get any other ideas for stretching. thanks...

Hi Thank you for your advice, it is an extra 3/4 mile that i added on since i started running 25 mins flat so could well be my body adjusting. I have the right running shoes and they're only 2 months old so not ready to replace yet. I think i just got a big frustrated today, i will try spreading out to a couple of rest…
