I just started running in the morning around 5/5:30 am. If I had a concern, I would worry more about tired/distracted motorists and coyotes then bad guys. Of course, I also live in a fairly safe area, but grew up in the city in a very tough neighborhood. I always carry my phone, vary my route and make sure to say hello and…

1. I'm constantly in the bathroom due to the water I drink. 2. My TOM is no longer as regular as it used to be. 3. I get aggravated if I run out of fresh salad, cooked chicken or protein powder. 4. My face feels really hot (though doesn't flush), through out the entire day. 5. My family is starting to tell me that I'm…

Wow, you look amazing! Great job. You've lost a whole little person!!

I love all of these responses, but Lilaclovebird's is my favorite so far!! My mom's health problems really motivate me to get healthy, and I wish I could influence her the way you've influenced your Dad. Good job! My NSV is I finally pushed past the 2 mile mark on a run this morning, and feel great!

You are my hero Stavarda!! Thank you for this, best MFP post in a long time!

Office treats are tough. They seem to be available at the most in opportune times and are usually of the worst variety (Rueben's, chips, cookies...) I literally just returned from brushing my teeth (I use cinnamon crest at work for this specific reason, I hate the taste of it) because there is a meeting in the conference…

I like the suggestion of doing some calorie reductions the week around the BBQ day. But there were so many good suggestions about healthier eating, and i'll be trying some of those as well!

Oh my....I am so sorry for all the pain that has been inflected on so many people here. There are just too many people who only feel good when they are making someone else feel bad. I am sad that so many people are attacked due to their weight, and some really did have no control over it...especially those of us who were…

I don't have any real advice, though I think you got some good info from other posters. I just want to congratulate you on the major health changes you've made and wish you the best of luck in your run!! I think you may be the type of person who needs to shock and awe and if you can place in your first 5k, that will keep…

I am in the same boat. I use workout videos at home and took a break last week to focus on running. Yesterday I worked out and am beat today, as I always, and am debating working out. Guess I'll do it. thanks!

I was going through my drawers looking for a sports bra for my morning workout and came across my shaper top... you know that tight contraption us ladies squeeze into when we want to feel slim or have no muffin top?...well, I realized I haven't worn mine, nor thought about wearing it, for over two months! NSV

Awesome!! I did C25K in a group setting and ran my first 5k two weeks ago...but since then I've been struggling with it and today only did 1 mile, earlier in the week went 2 miles. My commitment was wavering, but I love your story and want to be like you! Great work and motivation! Thank you.

I'm reiterating a lot of what others have said...have patience, grasshopper. Really look at how things fit now and how they fit before, it's different and that's your progress. You are lucky to be losing evenly from all over your body. celebrate that! I am in a similar position. I've lost about 20lbs in the last few…

"The term coaching may be applied to an informal relationship between two individuals where one has greater experience and expertise than the other and offers advice and guidance as the other goes through a learning process, but coaching differs from mentoring by focusing upon competence specifics, as opposed to general…

Just for today, I will not beat myself up for my lazy weekend. I will eat right today, get my head cleared and commit to being healthy and happy, today.

I'm so sorry that you've been through so much. Thank you for sharing. You are inspirational. So many people, on here, but throughout the world want to wear skinny jeans or look good, you just want to be strong and healthy, and by the looks of it are getting there. Great work!

If it's like the usual JM workouts, you can add more weights or work up to the "bad@$$" version that she usually provides. I haven't done that workout dvd, but I did Ripped in 30 and 6 week 6 pack and it never felt "easy". Keep doing it and add in more weights or the fuller range of motion/increased speed of repetitions…

Finishing. I am a new runner, so I am still working on hitting "my stride" and have never zoned out. I spend most of the run telling myself it's not that bad, that I can just go a little further, that the sun isn't that bad, there's shade ahead, that if I just go a few more minutes I'll feel better and it will get easier.…

I am soo there with you!! My chest and rib cage area has lost 4 inches and are pretty tiny, but my *kitten*, hips and thighs won't budge!! I am working out and I know it took a while for them to get this big, but I wish my *kitten* and legs would slim down as quickly as the rest...it's so frustrating!! I do see a…

Let's see there are a bunch. Being able to wrap a towel around myself, after a much quicker shower. Running a 5k and not dying, that was a surprise. Lifting and swinging and wrestling with my 5 year old is much easier. Some similar activities with my hubby are also much easier and more enjoyable. Fitting into the seat on…

It's day 2 and you are just learning. Don't beat yourself up. Just get back on track. Log what you ate (and think about how bad you felt for it). Don't starve yourself tonight, or you'll binge again tomorrow. Make smarter choices tonight, a salad with protein maybe, and aim to eat well tomorrow also. Small victories add up…

I ran my first 5k last night and was second place with a 32:41 time! I wore a pair of size 12 ann taylor pants which I've had for 3 years and never took the tags off because they never fit well enough!
-
You are doing the right thing for yourself. Take it one step at a time, small goals, small achievements. They will add up and you will get better at it.
-
First, stop beating yourself up! You made a mistake, we all do. Second, I agree with the people who say to log it. Do that. Look at the calories you took in, think about how you feel, RIGHT NOW and vow not to do it again. We all make mistakes. You can learn from it.

I wanted to let you know that everyone's biggest battle is with themselves. Each and every one of us on MFP has fought it. We doubt ourselves, we give excuses and we don't feel that we are good enough. But we are, you are. You can do whatever you set your mind to do. Start small, make small daily changes. Eat less Move…

You look amazing and Love your story!! Keep up the good work.

I believe in walking. I walk as often as possible and I know it's made me stronger and healthier. I think it's good for anyone, especially people who do not have the capacity to do anything more strenuous yet.
-
Wow, great work!! You look amazing and strong! Keep up the good work.

Hi, I just started level two of this program and struggled with the side planks as well. The only way I can do them is on my forearms as well. It's still a challenge. Let me know how you do. I love JM workouts, and this one is tough. Especially level two, not a lot of mat work, which surprised me.

I dug out my copy of new rules of lifting for women, which I tried to start last year. Read it front to back, back to front. Joined planet fitness and tried doing the workouts alone. I had some success, but just couldn't hit a rhythm. The past few months, I've modified my calorie intake and nutrition. Started working out…
