Yes please....I started yesterday....

Just joined the group and I've been on MFP for a few years. I moved to Portland back in March.

Oh my gosh. You guys are awesome! Some of your stories made me laugh, some made me sad, but they all made my day a little better. Thanks for sharing!!! salcha76~ "just keep swimming" became a saying at work during a stressful time. Maybe this will be my mantra when I want to fall apart...

And this is one of the reasons I miss you so much!!! She's 23...and ugly!

Thanks guys. My boyfriend of 10 years met someone through the Playstation network and they are "in love". There's more to it than that, but I was totally blindsided. I missed my run yesterday...but have gotten some activity in, i.e. piling his crap up and chucking at glass candle at him.

I didn't worry about speed at all; I think my top distance so far is a little over 2 miles. I just concentrated on getting through the runs without stopping. I just graduated last week and started Zombies, Run! so I can work on my speed (I'm also throwing hills in while I'm at it).
-
I should have added that I also run a second (GPS) app in the background...Runtastic. It gives you distance, average speed, etc. There's quite a few free apps out there that are like it, and it's handy if you throw in a little extra with your sessions. Like the other day, I ran a total of 30 minutes and walked 10-I enter…

I might have made things harder on myself, but I just added up the total running time and the total walking time and entered it that way. I know it's not 100% accurate, but it was a start. I really want a heart rate monitor!

Thank you!

I am a graduate as of last night....woohoo! I was very excited about this, unfortunately my run didn't go so well-I started feeling pukey about 30 minutes in. Still, it's a great feeling when I think about how far I've come. I don't have a definite plan yet. It will be one of these: Zombies, Run!, working on my speed, or…

Thank you for this reminder. I have 2 more runs until graduation, and though I have a couple ideas about what I'd like to do, I don't have a definite plan yet...

I can see my mile times, but that includes my walking. I'd like to see how fast I can run (slow jog at this point ????) a mile.

I don't know what a split is :-) I think Runtastic does quite a bit and would work fine...if I was strictly running. I also have SportsTracker on my phone, so I might try using that in the background during the 25 minutes of running today.

If you have a smart phone, there's at least one free app out there (I use the Zen Labs one). Or here's a link to a written version- http://www.coolrunning.com/engine/2/2_3/181.shtml (Hope that link will work) When checking out the website version, it does look a bit different than the app though....

I am doing the Couch to 5K program....I'm in the middle of Week 4. I'm not sure if this is the program you're doing, but I also belong to a C25K group here on MFP.....

Her podcast was one of my original motivators, love them!

I did my first day yesterday. I was so nervous about trying to run in public (and trying to run at all really). I did the whole 30 minutes, but only a couple runs because my foot started to hurt. I'm hoping to be able to continue because even though it was hard, it felt good. I'm jealous of your view!
