  • Yes! So do the machines are you gym (25-40%). The treadmill at my gym tells me I burn 150 calories per mile I run. I wish this were true. Reality is probably closer to 100-120 per mile. Gym's have an incentive to inflate these numbers. It makes us feel accomplished and successful. These feeling make us more likely to…
  • Always, nobody wants to be the stinky kid in class. Also, I go to the gym at 4am when there are only about 10 people there. Why is it when the 11th person shows up they have to get on the treadmill right next to me??? They couldn't have used the other 30 open treadmills.
  • I have no idea how to help. I'm just here hoping you'll say more words like, rubbish.
  • Always workout in the AM. It kick starts your body and you get a multiplier effect of calorie burn throughout the day. Working out at night is better than not working out but most people will go right home after the PM workout, eat, then go to bed. Not beneficial to calorie burning.
  • Soy products? Really? If theres one thing I have learned from MFP its that half of the people on here are so misinformed it's ridiculous.

  • Running. Lose the body fat and poof....you have a six pack!
  • And lots of chemicals. Why do people think we can continue to alter our food supply and not have negative effects? Our society is flooded with healthy issues that were almost non-existent 50 years ago. If it is not connected to our food supply, what is causing Americans (and people around the world) to have all these new…
  • Put it this way, there's not a nutritionist on the planet that will recommend drinking diet soda. If something has a flavor but no calories it should be a giant RED FLAG. Ask yourslef, "what exactly am I drinking"?
  • You either want to change or you don't. Which is it?
  • Whatever you use during the race make sure that you have used it prior during your training runs. Race time is not the time to be trying out new thing.
  • Ditch the dairy and see how you feel. Most of the world population has some level of lactose intolerence. Also, it takes time for the body to adjust to different foods.
  • I always take a quick shower before the gym in the morning. It does 2 things....1.) Gets rid of your funk & 2.) wakes me up. It is not ok to come into the gym smelling like *kitten*. Here's another thing....if you're running on the treadmill (or any machine for that matter), please keep a towel handy to wipe off with. It's…
  • I think the most important thing is choosing a personal trainer is choosing someone who has the body you hope to obtain. With that said, my preference would be a male (since I'm not trying to look like a woman).
  • Heat = no fun. I run in the mornings at 4:15am (5am for long runs Saturday.) A bit earler for most but I have been on this schedule for a couple years now and I'm used to it. Even walking up and getting out before 7am should still be much cooler.
  • The easiest way for me is to make double the amount of dinner the night before. Then I just take the leftovers as lunch the next day. It makes the morning run so much smoother just being able to reach into the fridge and grab and go. The time saved is worth eating the same thing 2 days in a row.
  • Like anything in life, it's good to have a plan. By planning my whole days worth of calories and exercise in the morning (or night before) I find it easier to stay on track. I can also see if I need to hit the gym up again after work so I can eat that piece of carrot cake after dinner! The only reason I workout is so I can…
  • The stationary bike is like any other piece of equipment. You get out of it want you put into it.
  • Ask your doctor for an E-95 Food Panel Test. This test shows your bodies ability to handle 95 common food choice (red meat, dairy, gluten, fish, etc). You can alter you diet to your specific body and make your body as efficient as it can be. It's great!!!!
  • 1.) People who stop in the middle of the aisle in the grocery store and walk away from their cart (which is conveniently parked in the middle of the aisle so no one can get by). 2.) Parents who ask, "how do I get my kids to eat healthy" - last time I checked the kids weren't buying the groceries. 3.) People who buy a drink…
  • My trainer calls them "Bavarians" but they may go be another name. You stand in front of a bench with dumbbells in hand. Extend your leg back and place it up on the bench (shoe laces down). Then do a squat using your front leg (making sure your knee stays over you heel). Adjust the weight to your ability. Then switch legs.…

  • Real men don't view porn, they get laid. Period.
  • Most candy is not vegan. Most candy is made from white, bleached sugar. To achieve this "bleached" look they tumble the sugar in animal bones....rendering a non-vegan product. GOOGLE is your friend.
  • I heard your arms will fall off!!!!!
