  • 2 things: 1 i would watch out with the soy milk. an 8 ounce glass of soy milk messes with your hormones and makes your produce more estrogen than you should. when in estrogen dominance, youre a breeding ground for cancer... so just be mindful 2. i feel like your missing ingredient here is sleep! the university of chicago…
  • Thanks for all your replies! I think I probably have been a bit slack on the measuring of things. I suppose taking a break from MFP meant that I stepped away from the food scale more often than I should have. I have tried a few TDEE calculators which always come out to be 1,800. Current weight is 63.1kgs and height 5ft6.…
  • Should have probably added that I have tried playing around and bumping up the calories by an extra 250-350 but that had little effect as well
  • Was just reading another post similar to this! I always end up starving in the few days before and all healthy habits could easily - or sometimes do - fly out the window. I try to get my cardio in on these days because the first few days it actually starts I'm as good as useless - cramps, nausea and a whole host of other…
  • I experience this myself, especially a few days during the 'lead up'. I eat a good healthy balanced meal and end up STARVING about an hour later! So, I did some research around it and there's a myth that women burn an extra 500 cals on their period. However, apparently, at most, it's around 300 extra cals for the whole…
  • I have a few playlists with equally motivating titles with anything fast; destiny's child, avicii, David Guetta and some old 90's tracks. But I do like some of the ministry of sound albums too. On one of their running albums they have a really good remix of Journey's 'Don't stop believing'. That's the one I crank up when…
  • Staff nurse - working on an emergency admissions ward at the moment
  • I'm only just realising what you are all saying about the maintenance calories! I'm so use to the limit set on MFP, I forget that anything over is only going to be maintenance, not a gain (up to a point, obviously!!!) *smacks head against wall*:noway:
  • Funny you say that....while I was sipping away at my water I was thinking 'That didn't even taste as good as I was hoping it would' That's a good idea about the fruit!! I love fruit and started to cut it down a bit due to the sugar. Slowly learning that a little bit of craving will satisfy you for a long time!!
  • I appreciate your comments....usually I don't get so caught up emotionally by it, I'm not sure why today is so different. But you are right about putting the calories to use. I'm really looking forward to my run tomorrow!!!
  • I think it's well and truly been ticked off the list today haha
  • Yeah I'm not sure what we're all calling it now days......I don't think I've ever used YOLO before in my life.... :|
  • Hi there! When I first decided to lose weight, I started on the slimfast programme. Shake for breakfast, a 500 calorie lunch, a shake or meal replacement bar for dinner and two snacks - usually fruit or veggies. I did this for around 12 days purely to 'kick start' my weight loss and I worked out three times a week, mainly…
  • I sometimes combine the two by doing HIIT. I also use this when I don't fancy a run - I can stay indoors instead!! 1 minute cardio, 2 minutes strength training, 1 minute rest etc for a total of 40 minutes plus a bit of a stretch at the end. There are some great HIIT workouts from FitnessBlender on youtube!
  • 1 Slice of whole meal toast 2 scrambled eggs with a drop of 1% milk White coffee
  • I'd say this depends on if you're prepared to go over your calorie limit and by how much, and also how many calories you have left. I find if I want lots of something thats low calorie I'll snack on grapes, blueberries, raisins - also great for PMS days when the body sometimes craves sugar. Even better - melt a couple of…
  • I understand exactly what you mean! No matter how many times someone says I've lost weight and I check the mirror it's like i don't believe Im getting anywhere!!! But we all are, it might just take us a bit longer to believe it. Measurements are a really good way to notice the difference! I also focus more on how my…
  • That sounds like a great idea! I think it proves the more of you involved the better the outcome :))
  • How is your fluid intake? Sometimes hunger is mistaken for thirst? Just a thought as I kept getting hunger pangs, upped my fluids and it seemed to keep it at bay! :)
  • You sound like me! All about the desserts and wine!!! I live in London and since I've been here I've discovered far too many good places to eat!! Looking for motivation as well so feel very free to add me!!!
