  • Hi I'm from Solihull in the west midlands UK. Very interesting to read where everyone is from. Well jealous of those sunny beach locations. ;)
  • I plateaued for 3 months. Basically my body got used to what I was doing. It was way easier to lose weight when I had so much excess but then it stopped dead. Now I eat more calories as my metabolism got used to 1200 calories and slowed down. I push that little bit harder in the gym and have increased the amount of weight…

  • Hi. Just an update. This thing really works!! It's been just over a month now and the weight is starting to come off again. I spent 2 months looking at 68 kg on the scales so came to MFP for inspiration. Found this thread and thought I'd give it a go. I worked out that I need to be eating around 1900 cals. I have been…
  • Hi. It's entirely up to you what exercises and routine youwant to do and you'll find what works best for you. I became a bit obsessed with the gym and actually over exercised building muscle and not losing much weight. Cardio is excellent for fat burning. I actually found out that there is something called afterburn which…
  • I now have 2 twins! Does that make me a triplet????
  • This is fun! I want a twin too! Female Ht 5'7" 33 SW 161 CW 146 GW 138 :)
  • I have a daughter called Maisie but we just call her moo or moomin. She calls me mumma so just put the two together. X
  • Hi I bought some scales with a measurement for body fat percentage and water percentage too. If I weigh more it's usually because my hydration level has gone up And i am retaining water. I find it quie motivating as my weight hasn't shifted much but my body fat percentage has gone down. Come to the conclusion am packing on…
  • I gave myself 2 weeks of not worrying and ate upto 1900 cals as calculated on another website ( recommended butcan't quite remember) I started my usual routine again but contined eating 1900 cals and hey presto am losing weight again! Looking forward to getting to my final target! Thanks for the advice
  • I often look at myself and feel blobby yeti've lost 24lbs and have dropped 2 dress sizes. I have been the same weight and size for the last two months so feel less motivated although I'm still doing the same things. Self image is a hard thing to deal with but you've done absolutely fantastic. Keep it up.
  • I can believe that stat. I think it's because nurses tend to graze rather that take proper breaks. Also all the "thank you" chocs and biscuits are too easily accessible at the nurses station. Night shifts are worse if it's a first night and you've been up all day and ate your regular foods and all those ' naughties' are…
  • Hi all I'm quite new to the community side of MFP. I'm a paediatric nurse currently working for agency looking after children at home who have special/ additional needs and life limiting illnesses. Previously I was an ICU nurse. I also do bank work in ED.
  • Great article. Have plateaued and feeling hungry all the time. I plan to start over and go back onto protein rich diet shakes and do some weights based exercises such as Bodypump. Will let you know how I get on.
  • I drink green tea all the time as I like it, however it doesn't make me pee tons. Coffee is more of a diuretic as caffeine makes you pee like crazy. The downside is that your body will retain water all the more so just drink plain water or dilute fruit juice. I have plateaued at 67kg after losing 11 kg since Christmas.…
  • Hi thanks for sharing this. It makes perfect sense to me. I had a week away and only exercised once. I ate all maner of foods and went way over my 1200 cals MFP had calculated. I came back expecting to break the scales but found I'd actually lost 1.5 kg! I will keep you updated on my progress. Have been stuck for well over…
  • Hi It took me 6 weeks to actually lose weight. I could fit into clothes a size smaller but still weighed the same. It was because I was using weights and toning, muscles is denser than fat and weighs more per square inch. Once I had established a good routine the weight started falling off. Now I'm stuck at 66kg and…
  • My husband and ny daughter are have coeliac disease and are very sick if they eat anything containing gluten. It is a serious condition with risks of stomach and intestinal cancer along with high risk of diabetes and thyroid disorders. GF food is also incredibly expensive. I have noticed that it seems "trendy" to have an…
  • Hi. I tend to weigh myself weekly on a Sunday morning. It's true that you gain 2-3 pounds over the day but it is water that retained. You use this when you sleep hence why we are lighter in the morning. Also weighing myself on a Sunday gives me a plan for the week ahead of what to eat and how much exercise I need to do…
