I love to start each workout with "Go, You Chicken Fat, Go" by the Cherry Bombs. It was the song in an Apple ad last year and it really makes me smile when I start with it!

Good for you for sticking with it.
-
That is fantastic!

Sending you friend request. I love yoga and I love swimming. I am trying to log faithfully and need support and a kick in the butt every now and then. I will do the same for you!

I agree about walking being a great way to start. Even if only for ten minutes at a shot. Also, Fitness blender.com has some great beginner workouts.

That's fabulous!

Yup, the photo thing, at least this time around. Had a big event for my stepdaughter last weekend and she wanted me in the photos and I couldn't figure out a graceful way to demur without seeming like I didn't recognize the importance. So there are about 30 photos around that show me how bad it has gotten. And several of…

Hi, Lori. I am getting back on track as well and have an open diary. Go ahead and add me if you want. I am 56 and have plenty of weight to lose, again!

I, too, am renewing my commitment today. I have been stalled for a long time and have been maintaining a fairly steady weight but in the past few weeks, it has started creeping up. The dedicated and unadulterated tracking starts now!

Fitnessblender.com. -it is a great site. Close to 200 free videos from a few minutes to an hour. Many don't require any equipment. Good instruction. I love it!

I am giving this one a bump to follow up later as I have been through a long stretch (3 or 4 months)off the wagon and am just getting my groove back.
-
Hope it helps! Blob is not a good feeling! :)

I have set up two notebooks on Springpad that I use for this. One is all the ones I want to try or have tried (I add notes with my thoughts on each one) and the other is the workouts I am planning to do this week. That is working well for me.

Are you doing kettlebells on your own? At the gym I go to, they only have access to kettlebells with a personal trainer (and they have some small kettlebell classes with trainers) because it is very easy to sustain an injury using kettlebells. The only way to avoid backpain with this is to learn how to do the exercises…

How about the Fitness Blender 32 MInute Chair Workout? http://www.fitnessblender.com/v/exercise-detail/Workout-at-Work-32-Minute-Chair-Workout-Video/a8/

I haven't found one I don't like yet! I, too, love the kettlebell, but I have also liked the others I have done. I am going through each week and picking out three or four to put on my schedule for the week. I look at the difficulty level (not yet ready for too much above a three!) and I read through the description and…

You know, I felt the same with with my trainer sometimes but then I realized that I was trying to compare him with Bob or Jillian or Dolvett on the Biggest Loser and I don't think that was fair! There were definitely benefits of working with him and they showed up in body fat and measurements and the way I felt. You might…

I have become the biggest cheerleader for the Fitness Blender workouts. They have more than 100 workouts of all kinds on their website. All free. ranging from a few minutes to 60 minutes. Nothing "in your face" just good stuff. THey rate them on a scale of 1 - 5 for difficulty.

My husband and I worked with a personal trainer for almost a year and it was great. BUT...when we stopped we went through what I call PPTP - Post-Personal Trainer Paralysis! It was like I couldn't figure out how to do it on my own. I don't imagine that happens to everyone but it sure happened to me! I still went to the gym…

I second the recommendation for Fitness Blender. I have been doing their kettlebell workouts (and others) for a couple of weeks. It is more like working out with a personal trainer than the usual fitness video but that is what I like about it!
-
Have you tried www.fitnessblender.com? They have more than a hundred free, straightforward workout videos. They give each one a difficulty rating of 1-5. They are all designed to be done at home with little or no equipment needed (and they offer alternatives if you don't have what is required). They give an estimated…

I use this one and then I use their "Net Calorie Burned" calculator for an even better real estimate. http://www.shapesense.com/fitness-exercise/calculators/heart-rate-based-calorie-burn-calculator.aspx

I have had success using my HRM and then using the calorie burned calculators at www.shapesense.com.

Fabulous! What a "one-derful" thing to celebrate!

Don't give up! If you are eating right and getting exercise you are doing something that is good for you whether you lose weight or not. I've been stuck for a loooooonnnnnggggg time at about the same weight after losing some but I refuse to give up because I know that no matter what the scale says today, my body is fitter…

Ohhhhh! There is nothing like a wonderful husband to make it all feel good!

Oh, my. I guess I have to figure out how to post a photo now. It might take me a day or two because technically, at this moment, I am supposed to be finishing up a major report that must be submitted by the end of today.
