I have seen people use the microwave before. The goal is to make the cauliflower pulp mushy and then to squeeze out the water.

Thanks for these. I am going to be all over that broccoli cheddar soup tonight!

You can always do the bulletproof coffee to up your fats. Basic recipe would be 8oz coffee (better quality coffee if you can get it), 2T heavy cream, 1T grass feed unsalted butter (kerry gold), and 1T coconut oil. Throw it in a blender and blend it until it is frothy and creamy. If done right, it just tastes like a super…

Super easy chicken breast recipe (or chicken thighs - more fatty): You need a crock pot (get one - trust me). Just take your breasts or thighs (or a mix) and toss them into the crock pot. Add an entire bottle of Frank's or Crystal hot sauce, 4tbsp of butter, half a pack of hidden valley ranch mix. Cook on low for 8 hours.…

Peanut butter and jelly is pretty good. The other peanut butter ones are tolerable. The rest taste like cardboard.

Several tortilla companies make a low carb tortilla with Net carbs well under 10mg per tortilla.

Burgers no bun, Chipotle or Moes burrito bowl, McDonalds double no bun small side salad with ranch, Greek place (gyro meat salad or Kabab), Chicken Wings (like Buffalos), plain old salad with chicken and ranch, rotisserie chicken from a grocery story, steakhouse

It was amazing. I can't stress that enough. I didn't come up with the recipe, it is the standard one floating around the web. My wife, who isn't doing Keto, absolutely loves it. We made it twice in 1 week. She put ham an pineapple on hers. The crust actually gets crusty and tastes like the seasonings you put in it - unlike…

Never mind - I had the pics in my email.

Sounds like a potassium deficiency - extremely common on Keto. Get yourself some potassium salt (called no salt) and use 1/2 tsp a day for a big boost to your potassium level. Same thing happened to me and occasionally still happens when I get lazy.

Water. Drink way more that 8 oz per day. Also make sure that you are getting enough potassium, magnesium, and take a general vitamin. In the beginning constipation happens to many people on keto. It usually goes away.

You are right. It is not magical. However, the high fat and moderate protein will make the OP feel satiated longer which will kill snacking urges. In addition, spikes in glucose trigger hunger.
-
I have definitely noticed that too. Also, as soon as you mention that you are doing a LCHF diet everyone becomes a freakin' nutritionist.

Now you are being snarky. Also, that is fine that you are not into a low carb diet. We are not trying to get you to try it. We are trying to keep you from dissuading someone who chose to do one with unsolicited advice and information that is illogical and wrong.

Actually no she isn't. There are lots of cases of people being in dietary ketosis for 10+ years. For me IT IS a lifestyle change. I loved breads, pastas, and sugary foods. lovED. Past tense. I have no cravings for them now. I really mean that. I easily turn them down. I don't think about them. I love the food that I make…

It is healthier for me. I have tried to get my weight off with a variety of diets including a balanced approach. None of them worked. With keto I have gotten nearly 70 lbs off and I don't much longer to go. With that weight loss my cholesterol went from the high side of normal to the low side of normal, my blood sugar went…

Someone pointed out something that I missed on the blog on the r/keto. The article has the statement: "And, after following a low carb diet for just three days, only two of the six participants were able to complete the cycling test! Meanwhile, when following the higher carb diet for three days, all six participants were…

How long did you go low carb for? You WILL feel awful if you go low carb for only a few days to a few weeks. This phase is known as induction or keto flu. It goes away.
-
Keto still creates a calorie deficit. It is only easier because the fat and protein that you supplement the carb deficit with make you feel satiated for longer. Plenty of people have been on a ketogenic diet for years and have bulked up successfully. The urge to binge while no Keto goes away (at least for me) because of…

It is hard. Losing weight is psychologically and physically demanding. When you say things like "its not hard" you are doing NO good. You are trivializing the struggle that many people go through to lose weight. It just makes people feel bad about themselves. You keep calling it highly restrictive. Other than sugars and…

I don't really follow your logic. No matter what diet you choose, if you stop doing it and revert back to your old habits you will gain weight back. Additionally, you do not know the reasons why she stopped. I have stopped once because I just graduated from school and had a few months until I started a new job and I didn't…

Bulletproof coffee is usually just coconut oil (or mct oil), unsalted butter, and coffee. It is usually blended and turns into a frothy creamy drink. I don't really use it however it actually tastes pretty good and for people doing LCHF diets it is a good way to increase fat.

The brain and red blood cells do just find with ketones.
-
I am not starving at all. Far from it. I am happy and satiated.

Here is one among many: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC1373635/

65% of your calories should come from fat. 30% of your calories should come from protein. 5% of your calories should come from carbs. Try to be as near to that as possible.
-
DO NOT work out until you are keto adapted. Wait a few weeks. Just stick to the diet. Yes it is keto flu. Your body is not using the ketones that it is producing efficiently because it has been carb dependent for so long.
-
It is hard to really see what is going on because you don't seem to have a fiber column and a potassium column and your net carbs column isn't working for me. Also, I can't tell what percentage of fat your diet is comprised of. Are your macros 65% fat, 30% protein, and 5% carbs?. Your calories seem really low. However, if…

So I have had this problem with standard diets that focus on low fat and moderate to high carbohydrates. I always felt hungry and as a result depressed. I switched to a high fat low carb diet and have had zero problems with depression due to not feeling satiated. Due to the high fat and moderate protein I am always full…
