  • I stuck some things together from the cupboard. It was pretty tasty, but would be better with real rice... From bottom to top of bowl: Tikka Masala Chicken Nugget Bowl (~600 cals.) Uncle Ben's Ready Rice - Basmati (1/2 bag) PictSweet Creamed Spinach (1 x 4.5 oz. carton) Perdue Simply Smart Breaded Chicken Nuggets (5)…
  • Shady calorie counting, Uncle Ben! :D
  • I eat less carbs. & more protein/fat to feel satiated and stay under my calorie goals. No keto, no-way, no-how!
  • Nice... Also Made in USA! https://www.wrightsock.com/pages/about
  • Thorlos, at least the medium pad. Check out their many options (all Made in USA!). My Thorlos have lasted *FOREVER*. Wash inside out with fabric softener (if possible) to fluff the threads. http://www.thorlos.com
  • Blueberry jam... Does that count?
  • If there's room left in my calorie budget, cottage cheese 4 oz. snack ups are a go-to snack, as well as high quality peanut butter and Sunsweet Ones (AKA, prunes!). I'm terrible at eating veggies, so Libby's 4 oz. microwaveable cups of sweet peas are a low calorie snack (30 cals.). And, the PictSweet "Steam in the Box"…
  • Check out Peanut Butter & Co. Old Fashioned Smooth w/ 2 ingredients: US-grown peanuts & salt. https://ilovepeanutbutter.com/collections/peanut-butter/products/old-fashioned-smooth
  • This chart doesn't reflect my satiety. I have found that eating protein is critical to staying "full" throughout the day. If I don't include protein for lunch (typically chicken), I'm likely to be in serious trouble in the afternoon (feeling fuzzy, tired, hangry, etc.). Find out what works for you & good luck!
  • Good luck! Be sure to get good shoes & socks to support your feet. I'm a Made in USA New Balance gal (you can customize them online!). And, I do like Thorlos moderate cushion socks... (Be sure to wash them according to directions.)
  • I assume you must be shorter than 5'6" - 5'7"? I can see someone shorter doing better on 1200 cals./day. I can't imagine 800-1000/day! I would probably eat my arm...
  • Yes, similar profile & goal, but the old MFP had me pegged at about 1350 cals./day (Sedentary) for a slower weight loss. I don't think I could have gone faster, but it worked for me (about 18 lbs. lost). I gained back ~7 lbs. starting a new job, eating out a lot, and not doing MFP, but I'm heading back to goal weight again…
  • Just gonna leave this 100% vegan burger right here. I really want to try it! www.impossiblefoods.com
  • Good quality shoes & padded socks (Thorlos rock!) are very helpful as well. Make sure you wash Thorlos inside out with liquid softener to keep the pad "springy." Starting slower sounds like a good idea as well. Good luck, Tanette! Keep it up! I'm trying to get back on track this summer... B)

  • Not vegan, but I just really want someone to try this new Impossible Foods 100% vegan burger since I'm not close to Texas... Check out the video to see it sizzle! But, how does it taste? And, no, I'm not affiliated with the company, but I am interested in new cool products! https://www.impossiblefoods.com/burger/ Also, for…
  • I second this opinion & I like the *Made in USA* label. I had to buy the Honey flavor even though I don't eat cereal b/c it's such a cool concept. Very crunchy & surprisingly good tasting!! :yum:
  • Yey! Awesome job! You are setting a great precedent for those on the forums who aren't quite there yet. Congrats & keep up the good work! :+1:

  • Unless I develop a terrible food intolerance, going vegan isn't for me. However, I think being an ovo-lacto vegetarian would be acceptable if I had ethical concerns about eating animals. As long as the chickens and dairy cows are treated well, and you have no food intolerances/allergies, I can see no reason not to eat eggs…
  • Choose any exercise you want as like as you're tracking. You do not have to RUN to lose weight. The important thing is calories in/calories out. Are you using MFP to set appropriate weight loss goals (View Guided Setup), track your food honestly/accurately, and track your exercise? If so, you will lose weight. If walking…
  • I agree. OP's BMR is 1,300 calories/day, without accounting for any calories "earned" by exercising, right? BMR Calculator If OP does 200 cals. of workout per day (20 mins. of Zumba or 55 mins. of walking at a moderate pace), I'd think she'd lose weight on 1,500 cals./day pretty easily. I let MFP do the math for me, and it…
  • I'm good at humorous nagging. Haven't been online in 4 days? I'll probably send you a wellness check. I've been in "mostly maintenance" mode for about a year, after losing ~15 lbs., but maintenance is harder than it seems... :o
  • Oh dear... 1800 cals. is already ~170 calories under your BMR (http://www.myfitnesspal.com/tools/bmr-calculator). Try listening to and following the advice of people that have successfully lost weight and maintained for years. Eat consistently a minimum of 1,800 cals. day, log your exercise and eat some of the calories you…
  • Are you eating back at least some of your exercise calories and logging accurately? Also, you don't have to work out to lose weight! You are free to do other activities instead. Walk, swim, etc. Good luck!
  • Lots of smallish or rural towns don't have a affordable private club options (if they have any at all!), but YMCA or a local university might be available?
  • Yeah... It wasn't terribly simple for me. It took a period of experimentation to find lower calorie lunch foods that would keep me satiated at work and not have me feeling woozy and starving by 3pm. I need to be clear-headed all day long, and it took me a while to realize that protein is the key. Once I got my "go-to"…
  • I started at 1290 calories in 2014 based on MFP's guidelines for my height and weight. I fluctuated around that number based on how much exercise I did that day, as I eat back some of my calories burned (I found this motivational!). When I got to goal weight in 2015, I shifted to .5 lbs./week, and I'm at 1350. I lost very…
  • I knew I would not lose weight unless I was honest with myself. I'm not a runner or a weight-lifter. I'm a walker that likes to eat good food. Thus, my goal was to be at a Healthy BMI and at a long-term sustainable weight without feeling deprived. I used the Guided Setup, entered accurate information, set it to lose 1 lb.…
