  • I gotta say, sodium really does make a difference….. there are acutally more and more foods coming out with low sodium options, from deli turkey, to black beans, to cheese….when making food, look at the content and try to cut things here or there…hidden sodium can pop up in things like salsa, egg beaters, condiments..etc….…
  • I have a polar FT4- I love it, it really helps to know how much you are actually burning…..the from videos at home, to the weight machines at the gym, I use it all the time. It's easy, comfortable, and works awesome! I got mine on sale on amazon.com…it was only $60…I just got it in december...
  • I have a problem with excess skin myself…..although it's not just from weight loss…I had 2 pregnancies, pretty large babies, and I'm not that tall myself (5'4"), combined with weight gain. Also, I had a c-section with my second baby, so I have what a lot of women term the "belly flap" I have a horribly ugly skin flab on my…
  • I have tried spin, but it's been years. I have been wanting to try it again, I guess I'm just nervous, from what I remember, it was a difficult class. That's a good thing, I know, but getting to that first class is kinda tough….
  • I'm in the same boat you are. I have been fighting a cold the past week or so, I kept working out, a little lighter than usual last week. Over the weekend I had some big workouts, and now this week, I'm toast. I HAD to take the day off today and rest, I was getting dizzy just walking around my house….So, I say, it's…
  • Sounds like everyone had pretty good days yesterday! I did a double work out at the gym. I had a cardio warm-up on the arc trainer or 20 minutes. Then I took the mat pilates class, which is really difficult BTW, and THEN I hopped on the treadmill for 45 minutes…..normally I would do the class OR the cardio, so I did them…
  • Hello, this site is a really helpful tool for weight loss and just being healthier in general. So, welcome to the group and good luck!
  • I'm in, today is my rest day, so tomorrow I should be ready to hit the gym hard!!
  • I'd say go with lightly active and still record your exercise. Taking care of the kids is definitely an active lifestyle. Even with your desk job, the rest of the day you are pretty busy, so yeah, there's my 2 cents
  • i gave it a try here, 60 girl-style for me…it may have been better, but my 2 year old thought it would be fun to play london bridges under mommy while I was doing the push-ups…..but, great topic, I did 60 this week, so maybe next week I'll try it again and see how I fare then
  • my other question with this, if I recalibrate it, does that affect the calories at all?
  • You look amazing! Way to go!
  • hey, welcome to MFP! Good luck with the weight loss!
  • I work out 5-6 days a week, ranging from 45 minutes to about an hour and a half. Also, I vary my activity and type of workout a lot, just to keep it interesting...
  • welcome to MFP! It takes time to change your lifestyle, and your diet. Don't be too hard on yourself, just keep working towards the goal, good luck!
  • I remember hearing that a BFing woman should have about 1800 cals a day…..that seems like a lot to me (I don't think i needed that when I BF my kids). I think 1600-1700 should be okay, as long as she is getting nutrient rich food, not junk food. So, lots of calcium for the milk, protein, and a minimum 8 glasses of water.…
  • welcome, and good luck!
  • I just got the video and started it, I love it. It's pretty much a circuit training video, so it makes the most out of a 20 minute work out. I also use this DVD with other videos and work outs, plus I JUST started it. It is challenging, but worth the work I think. Good combo of strength and cardio
  • I off birth control for awhile, then a couple months ago picked back up with ortho-tri-cyclen, the generic of it. I gained 7 lbs, and a whole cup size (which I don't need)!!! I was sooo mad, so I switched back to YAZ, which never made me gain any weight, and now I'n trying to loose that 7lbs, plus the rest….the 7lbs is…
