  • So fantastic!! How did you not get discouraged and give up while waiting weeks to lose the first pound? How were you so sure that it would eventually work?
  • I can't open the links from work, they're blocked. It sounds like Absolut, even flavored, is a great choice...zero carbs? If so---YAYYY!! Thanks!! Mixed with some diet soda, it'll be perfect for my weekend getaway!
  • I've got 4 kids, all involved in multiple sports every night. It's rough! I feel your pain! The crock pot will be your bff. Also rotisserie chicken and frozen veggies or raw veggies with dressing/dip. Make extras of anything you make on your less busy nights to either eat as leftovers or re-purpose into another meal. For…
  • I wish we could "Like" posts on here as we do on FB. I "Like" this! ^^^^^
  • Where do you find Reduced Fat Salami? My kids love salami and pepperoni sandwiches. I've never seen a reduced fat or turkey version of these deli meats. I can find turkey pepperoni in the small circles, but not sandwich size!
  • I think there was a part of me embarrassed by how much difficulty I had. We ran a mile, I stayed up front. Got to the track to do speed laps and by lap 3, I was trailing near the back. By the end of the speed work and the mile run back...I was dead last. When I run by myself, I feel good about me. Last night, I didn't feel…
  • I made almost the exact thing yesterday. I used a jar of gravy rather than the sour cream. I added a layer of French cut, frozen green beans beneath the stuffing. A complete meal in the crockpot!
  • In for 31 miles in 31 days. I've been on a 6 week hiatus from running. I need this!
  • Do you have an Aldi in your area? I have cut my food expenses in half by shopping there first. There are only a few of our "staples" that I now need to go to the regular food store for. Aldi has tons of fresh, even organic, produce, lean protein, dairy etc. I'm hooked!
  • I agree with Psulemon...If you must drop the weight, low carb for a few weeks. You'll drop it quickly. I've done it before when nearing the end of a few weight loss competitions. Always successful, but for me, never sustainable. Does the job though.
  • I can't wait to try this! We love Reuben ANYTHING! I make Reuben Dip, Reuben Egg Rolls, Reuben Lasagna...and now Reuben Soup! Thanks!
  • If you don't mind me asking...can you give me a range/estimate of what can be expected for the cost of a surgery like this? I remember that going out of the country often costs less than in the US. I'd be interested in both options. I'll give myself a year or 2 of weight training before I commit to surgery to remove the…
  • Sounds torturous...I'm in! I hate burpees and love burppee results!
  • It doesn't sound odd to me at all! You may be my MFP twin! I'm 5'7, 36 years old, wearing a 14...some 12's. I too haven't been this size or weight since middle school. I currently weigh around 193, down from 340. I'm hoping to lose about 15 more pounds. Then that's it. I'd still be considered overweight by BMI charts etc.…
  • You can pop your own popcorn in a brown paper (lunch-style) bag in the microwave with no oil whatsoever. I use 1/4 cup of kernels. Fold down the top of the bag twice. Pop on your popcorn setting and wait to hear it slow down... a second or 2 in between pops...just like with pre-packaged microwave popcorn. Much healthier!!

  • I researched a variety of activity monitors for the same reasons you are asking. I wanted to know if I actually could be eating more and still losing without spending much time trying out...for fear it wouldn't work! I finally bought the Body Media Link armband about 5 weeks ago. It was the best $100 I ever spent. I have…
  • Hi! You can totally do this and you will!!! I graduated college weighing around 300 and hung out between 250 (my wedding) and 340 (after baby #1) throughout my 20's. At my highest I weighed 340 lbs. When I got truly serious about losing the weight I was around 315. I had lost some weight following a low carb diet but was…
  • I often skip breakfast. If I eat it...even an omelet...I'm hungry soon after. Everyone reacts differently. You may fall into the same type of breakfast eater as me though. Most days I just have my coffee and maybe a banana.
  • Welcome Back! I hope you are doing well post-op. I had 1/2 of my thyroid removed in 2008. Prior to that I had lost about 100 lbs. I was so worried that I'd regain the weight or have trouble losing more. I got pregnant shortly after. Gained weight a bit quicker than in my other pregnancies though I'm not sure it had…
  • ^^^YES! I am obsessed with these. Great snack. High on protein, fiber...low on fat and calories. And like the above poster (quoted) they don't make me feel sick if I eat one before a workout. I keep them everywhere...my car, purse, work, lol! Edited to add: I also love them for post workout! Or any time I need a snack that…
  • I have the Body Media Link and I love it! It works flawlessly with mi old iphone 4 and syncs with MFP. Best $100 I ever spent!!
  • I agree! Each person is different! If I eat breakfast especially at a typical breakfast time, I find I am hungrier all morning. It doesn't matter if I have eaten eggs or fruit or oatmeal. I'll be hungrier. I made that mistake today and I'm paying for it! I am much better off having only coffee for breakfast with MAYBE a…
  • All information that I gather from MFP, the internet, books, friends...even dieticians, nutritionists, trainers and physicians, I take with a grain of salt. They are suggestions and advice. I don't believe that anyone has "THE answer". If they did, none of us would be here searching for the best way to lose weight,…
  • yummmmmmmmmm
  • Sorry hit post too quickly above! Thanks! That's what I've been thinking/hoping to hear. Thanks for everyone's help!
  • I typically exercise first thing in the morning , on an empty stomach anyway. So that's not an issue. My occasional afternoon workouts might be but I guess I'll see how I feel. When I lift, that's in the evenings so I would have eaten something by then. Glad to hear from some that this might be my ticket to success!
  • Love this thread! I have about 10 lbs to get to my ideal (in my head) weight. I'm shooting for 15 though so I have a little buffer zone for vacations, holidays etc. I plan to weigh every day and go back to losing mode whenever more than 4 lbs. creeps up. If I weighed weekly...I'd likely forget!
