Instead of bread I like to eat oatcakes (oat crackers) so hopefully they might be available where you are from. Also try making healthier 'cookies' with mashed bananas (preferably really ripe) and some oats (could also add some chocolate chips) Vegetable sticks served with a dip such as hummus, salsa, sour cream etc…

I don't like scales, so prefer to go by inches and how clothes feel.

A pint?! That's a lot of ice cream. I agree with previous poster about portion control. Just have a scoop or two of the good stuff for a treat. Haagen Dazs Salted Caramel is yum.

Extra lean ground beef and make your own sauce. I would stick to regular cheeses to be honest, I have no idea what kind of things are in low- fat cheese. Make sure you still drain the fat from the beef also, even though its extra lean it will still have some fat to drain. Try it with quinoa pasta instead of regular pasta.…

Make some oat bars the night before You can make them with any kind of nut butter, oats and dried fruits such as dates or raisins. Or chop some fruit and mix with natural yoghurt and store in fridge the night before

Any tips on how to get it nice and crispy? The base was a little soft.

I must be the only one but I really don't like salad dressing , it's far too sweet for me and ruins the great taste of the salad. However you could combine some garlic, olive oil and some herbs to make a nice and light dressing. Or olive oil with mustard seeds.

What's not to understand about something that tastes good, is full of vitamins, minerals and antioxidants. Fruit contains natural sugars not refined sugars which are in a plethora of processed goods. Vegetables also have natural sugars in them as well as many other foods, so if you were to prohibit all sugar (even…

Chicken and prawns with Singapore rice noodles and veg.

Well perhaps I can use quinoa and some other flour - such as teff or chickpea. It is rather expensive!! But I do think it'd be worth it.

Raw celery, wish I could like it. It has a horrible aftertaste, not to mention the watery texture. I'm working on quinoa but the texture is so off-putting.

Natural yoghurt with chopped banana, kiwi, grapes (sometimes blueberries or pineapple) With coffee and water.

Bad food is cheaper. In supermarkets foods like ready meals, microwaveable burgers and processed food are always on offer and/or cheaper. For someone in poverty it is hard to afford to buy nutritious food, when you can get cheap, easy to prepare food that is specifically targeted for busy low-income families.

Thank you!! :D

Not here at least, in fact most are made from wheat. Thanks for the suggestion of corn flour, admittedly I did think of it but wasn't sure because I wanted something with similar nutritional properties to chickpea flour.

You could make ones using quinoa like the recipe below http://www.keeperofthehome.org/2013/05/easy-quinoa-pancakes-gluten-dairy-and-sugar-free.html or use almond flour http://wellnessmama.com/7924/easy-almond-flour-pancakes/ or chickpea flour (which has a neutral flavour)…

I just made this and it smells so good, however I did add a dash more chickpea flour as the "dough" was just a bit too watery - though I think that's because I didn't squeeze the liquid out of the cauliflower properly. I got too enthusiastic and the cauliflower ended up all over the kitchen, so afterwards I was a little…

Cacao is cocoa in its raw state apparently. Was just wondering if it was a gimmick to be honest.

Eating crisps without thinking of calories. Or just eating bad foods all day, without thinking of any consequences.

English tea with milk. Indian tea with milk. Rooibos tea on it's own. And I've heard some very good things about Peppermint tea.

Don't see point in Valentines Day at all, let alone presents. Don't want a gift so hope no one ever gives me one. Consumerism at it's finest.

Hopefully September of this year, more people are becoming pro-Independence every day but who knows. Time shall tell.
-
On another note I enjoy Indian tea with almond milk, very nice. I will omit the milk in green or herbal teas though.
-
I was shocked when I learnt that milk in tea is mostly a British thing. I am classed as a Brit officially, but I class myself as Scottish. Rather confusing.

I like milky tea but do not class myself as British ;)

I am so jealous! Really want to go there though, but very expensive from here.
