  • Did not loose anything this week but did not gain anything either. Went off the wagon as they say of Friday and enjoyed a wonderful Carb fest all day. Pizza and hot italian bread for lunch and then the same as leftovers for dinner. It was well worth it. Then had the two granddaughters over for the weekend so the house was…
  • God Morning All. Any week that you loose weight is a good week. To this has been a good week for me even if it was only 1 pound. I have been logged in now for 45 days which i believe is a new record for me. I have kept up my two miles a day during the week and use the garden, yardwork and wood shopo as calorie burners on…
  • This is my first post to the Wednesday check in. I had done real well last year loosing and was almost to my goal. Then a new medication was added and my weight went up steadily. 7 weeks ago I decided I had gained more than I wanted to. So I got my butt out of my chair at work and have been maintaining about 10-12 miles a…
  • I think we should all send Wooken a paragraph on why we live were we do and what we like and don't like about the area. Then she can come around and visit all of us. It has been 20 years since we built our house in the county of NC. I don't see ever selling this place unless we just couldn't take care of it anymore.…
  • RetireHappy. I work in a large company office, Cube village if you will. This time of year, vendors are always sending goodie boxes of sweets that end up on a table in the hallway for everyone to share. I stay in my cube as much as possible and take the long way around for bathroom trips. And I pray everytime I leave my…
  • what I did right yesterday. Added more protein to my diet by adding the protein powder to my oatmeal in the morning. Got all my daughter's presents for her kids wrapped and delivered back to her. Talked to my elderly neighbor who lost her husband last year to make sure she would not be alone for Christmas. Ordered my…
  • Yesterday what i did right, beside went to Church, NOTHING. Cold, icy rainy. Not motivated. Stayed inside and ate. I did cook up a bunch of chicken and pork and vacuum freeze in individual meals. Makes coming home from work much easier. Add a quick side and dinner is on the table. RetireHappy, if you have access to a…
  • Hit log in day 25. Weekdays are easy sitting at the computer all day at work. Weekends are a lot more difficult. I seem to just forget. Could it be the age???? I think i need to replace the batteries in my scale. I can step on it 3 times and get 3 different readings. Someone brought in Dunkin Donuts this morning. Past on…
  • What I did wrong. Not stay with calories best I can guess. Have not logged past lunch since last Wednesday. What I did right? Got on the scale this morning. Did not loose but also did not gain. After last week, I am happy with that. Up to straight day 20 posting. Getting back to full day posting now until at least…
  • Good day everyone. I have to start with what I did right this week. I FINALLY got back on MFP and started watching what I eat and posting. I had not been on the sight for a couple months and began putting weight back on. At my age, it is too easily put on and way too hard to get back off. So today is my 4th day of posting…
  • Love Autumn also. Love the color of the trees in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Hopefully the 25 inches of rain we have had since June 1st hasn't ruined them this year. Seems like it has rained about 6 out of 7 days and we usually get an inch an hour or more when it rains. Wondering if the winter will be the same way with…
  • Welcome Mindful53. I am in North Carolina and also love to garden. I am having a terrible time with blight on my fruit trees and it seems to be spreading to everything else. I have to spray every other week to get it under control. We have been having so much rain, nothing gets a chance to dry out. I have about 40 tomato…
  • Happy June and the start of hurricane season. First tropical storm already on the books just in time for our beach trip this weekend. Hopefully it will make its way up to New England before Saturday. Please pray for my daughter and her family as they drive in it all day Friday to join us. We are expecting anywhere from 1…
  • Jean, I hope you have a wonderful and safe trip here in the US. As long as you can still button your pants, you should be good to go until you get home. :blushing:
  • Happy and safe travels to you. Pam
  • The boxing is really fun. Don't get too into it, you might punch the TV  . I had to keep backing my hubby away from the TV. He was getting so mad that the game did not respond as fast as he did. I told him he was not allowed to use it when i was not there to supervise. :noway: I think it is a great workout for your…
  • OK i'm in. just getting over a badly sprained ankle so 15 minutes should be do-able. Looks like i have a couple days to get caught up on. so do you plan on logging in every day with updates? or maybe a couple times a week? Pam
  • Lovechattys, Not sure if anyone told you yet, but the last to join has to start the challenge for the month. So figure out what it should be and get it posted:laugh: . Just remember, there are a lot of us old seniors that use the Wii and we don't have a lot of stamina. Anyway. Welcome aboard. Maybe you and Tyrantduck can…
  • Wooten, instead of using the MFP app on the iPad, go through the Safari button out to the internet and log into the MFP just like you would on your PC at home. I find that the app is only good for simple things like adding food. Have a safe trip. God Bless. Pam
  • take your tablespoon full of peanut butter and put it in a bowl. Put the top back on the peanut butter jar and put it back into the cabinet. Take your bowl "full" of peanut butter outside on the porch to enjoy. You will be so relaxed on the porch that you won't want to get back up to go inside for more. :flowerforyou:
  • The group could be very active if people will just talk to each other. I started a couple monthly challenges ( and failed both times :(). The April challenge that was put out seems too difficult for most. For me, just getting over a sprained ankle, running is out of the question. Besides, at my age, my knees give me fits…
  • Hopefully spring is here to stay in western NC. Spent most of Saturday working in the garden. Got a second batch of garden peas planted (first batch just broke ground) along with some green and red cabbage and some broccoli. I have 36 Roma tomato plants and a dozen cucumber plants still in the greenhouse. I think it may be…
  • still getting over a badly sprained ankle from a few weeks back. No way i can run yet. i'd have a hard time doing the free step for 10 minutes a day right now. maybe next month. For now, i will just have to continue with my strength training. Anything that doesn't involve too much on one foot.
  • Happy first day of spring to everyone. Here in North Carolina, the daffodils are in full bloom. Made the mistake of transplanting strawberries outside last weekend when it was 70 degrees. Now tonight it is supposed to be in the mid 20's. Guess I'll have to get out and cover them when i get home. And all my fruit trees are…
  • Hi Lori. keep up the good work on the Wii. Working out (or playing as it is called on the wii) with someone else is way more fun than trying it alone. Not sure what games you have, but if you two controllers and two numchuks, the two person boxing game is a Great workout. Just make sure you stand far enough apart. Anyway,…
  • just so i am clear, the March challenge is to actually Wii RUN for 15 hours? So since i am starting on the 15th, that would only leave me with a challenge of 7.5 hours? Oh well, going to give it a try. I will add the running onto my strength training.
  • please feel free to add a March challenge. How do you do the free run? just by holding the remote in your hand and running in place?
  • Welcome Mary Ann. The over 60 community will always accept new members. By the way, is that Bad Girl on a sportser tank? Do you ride? Once you start logging in everyday, it will become habit and you will look forward to reading all the comments posted by your friends. Wooten3 told me that once you do something consistent…
