We do have a fibro group which I would love to see become more active http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/group/17616-chronic-pain-fibromyalgia

I'm pretty fond of chocolate milk myself. I use Simply Smart. Yay!

One of the best things for me about MFP is the food database. You just need to learn to use it instead of cursing it.Take a little time to work with it. It can be a very valuable tool.

I know it's been a while, but if you are still on MFP how are you doing? Were you able to wean off of opiates?

It is difficult to get to the correct diagnosis of any chronic pain condition. Your head may be muddled because you are in distress about not knowing what is going on or it could be brain fog, a symptom of fibromyalgia. You will have to go through a process of elimination, testing for possibles, like RA or Lyme. You have…

Please let us know your qualifications for answering every question.

As far as I'm concerned, it's the only way to fly, but it demands total honesty and accountability.

I realize not everyone has access to one or room to put it, but after going through many digital and "manual" scales, I refurbed an old doctor's scale, the one with the platform, large column and arm with counterweights. It is truly awesome. Whatever scale you get, make sure you have a good, solid, flat floor to put it on…

You will be fit again. You sound like you definitely have the "right stuff". Welcome.

Holy cow!!!! That is kind of funny, as long as it didn't start a fire. Whew. When you were describing it all I could picture was a pan full of bones and ash. Probably didn't do the pan any good, either?

For my actual main weight loss the only tool I used was a pedometer. It was very helpful to know how many steps I was taking and motivation to take more. Walking and calorie counting were about the only things I did differently than I had before and it was a completely successful strategy. I did obtain an HRM after a while…

One day at a time. Keep your focus and your purpose. Baby steps are better than no steps at all. It will happen if you really want it to. Just know that it will take a while and don't get discouraged. This is for the rest of your long, healthy life. Good luck and strength on your journey.

Personally I think Dr. Phil is okay. He's a good entertainer and should be taken as that. I am a little put off by his recent ventures into product endorsement, though, but it does seem as though a lot of money goes to helping people other than himself. As far as the diet book and promotion, I am betting that he is smart…

Good luck on your journey. :)

During the 16 months I had my BodyMedia armband there would periodically be syncing problems. They were usually quite temporary and straightened themselves out. You can try unlinking and relinking, sometimes that works but not always.

I've had a couple of the Eat Smart ones that you linked to. The first one lasted about three years and I've had this second one a year and a half so far. Where I keep it, it tends to be exposed to water spills and such, so I think that's actually pretty good for the price. They do everything I need them to and they don't…

MFP for life. I totally agree with everything you said about MFP. Congrats on your success :)

Yeah, at 5'2" and almost 65 years old and kind of crippled up,my numbers are even lower than yours. If I want to lose or maintain not many calories can pass through these lips :'(

Did you get on and off the scale several times to reset the scale after the battery change? I am assuming you have it in the same place, on a hard floor, not on a rug?
-
Not sure why you dragged up this old thread, but I am assuming this is your "new" question. A cup of rice can be cooked or uncooked. For values dry and cooked you can check the box/bag. I think it is something like ¼ cup dry makes 1 cup cooked, but that is for my instant brown rice. The jasmine rice package says 1 cup dry…

Except for the 5 second rule!!!!!! :D

I'm in the same situation as you are. I actually did get down to where I thought I wanted to be a few years ago. I found that impossible to sustain without being horribly uncomfortably hungry all the time. However, I then gained back 5 pounds, I would have preferred only a couple. So, I struggle with those last few pounds…

I threw away all my fat clothes and bought better fitting clothes and I just can't afford to do that again in reverse!!! I am pretty sure, at my age, that I don't want to go through this again. Maintenance is tough enough. I want to look decent and be as healthy as I possibly can. That's my motivation.

Maybe you ( OP or anyone else) would like to join our fibro group here at MFP? http://www.myfitnesspal.com/groups/home/17616-chronic-pain-fibromyalgia

Don't think for a minute that you are "one of the only ones here with a disability". There are many folks with varying degrees of disability on this board looking for help and support. As you have found, you can't let your disability be an excuse. It matters, yes, but you can find a way to work around just about…

Go to APPS (from the top line of the page) and then click on Tickers (from the line underneath.)

Yeah, a good heart rate monitor is a real slap upside the head. But, now you have some better intel you can refine your plan. Don't be bummed.

In and of themselves, those numbers are not bad. I was 102 pounds at 5'2" when I was your age. But, I ate anything and everything, even though I had no conception of what was a really healthy diet. A couple of Big Macs and large french fries were standard after a night of drinking. Sigh. However, you should not need to…

I use two packets of stevia in the raw in one cup of coffee. I like it and don't notice any bad taste.
