So I thought I would share this because in retrospect its pretty funny.
Earlier today I was going to be baking chicken parm in the oven. However a friend called and I became a big distracted. Put the chicken in the oven and hit preheat (I normally wait for it to reach the temp I want, but oven was still semi warm lol. Anyway- after my friend hung up I went to check on the chicken. Well lets just say I was no longer having chicken for dinner. Instead of the preheat button I hit self clean lol.

Lol I didn't even think of that. Now I wish I had.0

I should not be allowed in the kitchen while on the phone. I almost just did it again but caught myself before I pressed it lol.0

Excellent!
Even I have never done that, and I am known for burning food, distracted or not.
Did you set the fire alarm off? That is my speciality especially during dinner parties when the wine is flowing freely.
Cheers, h.1 -
Self-cleaning oven you say? I've not seen that feature before, I could do with one of those.
Though any process that would render my filthy oven clean wouldn't produce edible food...0 -

No, thankfully it did not set off the alarm. I did however babysit it with the fire extinguisher just in case. The chicken wasnt burned.... It disintegrated.Elsie_Brownraisin wrote: »Self-cleaning oven you say? I've not seen that feature before, I could do with one of those.

Lol. Most ovens have a self clean option. But you are right about it not producing edible food lol. Ovens usually self clean at 900 degrees.0 -
Holy cow!!!! That is kind of funny, as long as it didn't start a fire. Whew.
When you were describing it all I could picture was a pan full of bones and ash. Probably didn't do the pan any good, either?

No bones, just ash lol.
Pan also had to be tossed since it became misshaped.

Same here. And it locks itself instead of having to be manually locked to work.TimothyFish wrote: »I didn't think comedy was allowed on this site.
Hmmm that's funny. I didn't think trolling was either...0 -

Figured I'd post my latest kitchen screw up here instead of making a new thread.
So I was packing lunch for my one SO, and got distracted by the cat meowing for food. So I put wet food down for the cat (or at least I thought I did) and continues putting his lunch together. I usually throw a can on tuna in his lunchbox (he loves tuna).
So I think by now you can see where this story is going. I had put the tuna in the cat bowl and sent him to work with a can of cat food. Let's just say, his coworkers were laughing their butts off when he told/showed them what I packed him.
His coworkers have a sick sense of humor (he's a cop). One of them came over to him with a bowl of milk just to be funny. Lol.10 -
Awesome. I've missed your kitchen capers.
Stay away from the kitchen
Cheers, h.
Hope workmates don't bring him catnip tomorrow.0 -
Bahahaa!! Oh no... I'm rather glad you put the can itself in there, rather than just the contents... could be worse?
I grabbed a frozen lunch out of the freezer a couple months back (after making and freezing a batch of soup). Come lunch time, I open it up... nope, that's the leftover chocolate mousse. Would have made a great lunch, but I popped it in the fridge and went and got a salad.1 -

Haha! Nope, no one brought him catnip today, but someone did tape a toy mouse to his locker.3
