  • I will come off eventually - trust me, it was the last place it came off of for me. I just had to keep losing weight (unfortunately).
  • Not for me personally, and I use it in tea a couple times a day.
  • There is a big difference for me, I tend to always weigh things on my scale.
  • Thank you for your response! I was thinking about also trying Pilates and I have not heard of barre, what is it? I should have mentioned that I've taken a lot of yoga classes before but wasn't able to stick with a consistent class due to $ or being a student or traveling.

  • I wish I could say otherwise, but it's just about losing more weight (calories in calories out). Thighs are my trouble area too, and I didn't see a real difference in them until I started losing weight within my healthy BMI. I'm sure there were changes before that, but I didn't feel/notice them until then.
  • Congrats!! I just got married in July and it was SO much fun going dress shopping, and I wasn't even at my ideal weight yet! I ended up getting a dress in my current size and I got it altered from a 10/12 to a 4/6 (fortunately this dress was able to do that, normally I don't think you can alter that far down). I hope you…
  • Do you exercise soon after eating?
  • For me it was when I started getting close to a "healthy" BMI. I started at 181 and there were definitely differences between 181 and 150, but once started losing weight at a BMI that is considered healthy I started seeing bigger changes with smaller numbers.
  • I'm looking to lose my last 10-15
  • I'm SO proud of myself for giving up caffeine (except trace amounts found in some teas, I drink decaf black tea though). I was a big coffee drinker, although not as crazy as some people can get. I'm a medical student and I was relying on caffeine too much to power through. This feels a lot healthier and I can listen to my…
  • I've been there - my best advice is to work towards your goal in a healthy way and be HAPPY with the result. Remember, your wedding is a day, and it will be a great day no matter what. I lost 50 pounds total, but I lost the last 25 for the wedding and that took 9 months and I was quite aggressive. I also bought my dress at…
  • It is best not to. I was hoping to have reached my goal by now, but I needed a HUGE mental break. And I am fine with it, especially because I am still within a healthy BMI and now I am back at it and my head is in the right place. I had an idea for where I wanted to be for when I got married, and fortunately I more or less…
  • I like the vast majority of those things. I also play a lot of League of Legends.
  • I'm a pear. I needed to lose enough overall weight for me to start losing in my hips and thighs - especially to be noticeable. I did it mostly with a calorie deficit, I don't exercise a lot. *I should also mention that even at my higher end of my BMI (150) I was still very pear/bottom heavy. When I got to be about 130 it…
  • My main goals are to stay ----healthy---- while preparing for Step 1 and starting my rotations as an MS3 starting in June  . I also would really like to lose about 15-20 more pounds and maintain between 120-130. I got down to 132 when I got married this past July, but have put on about 10 pounds since then and would…
  • Usually 3 times a day, if I snack then I find it is much easier for me to overeat (even though I log) and I don't think about eating as much.
  • Inner thighs - always
  • I just got married in 2015 and worked to lose the weight for that (not my only motivation, but it helped!) :) Feel free to add!
  • For me it is much slower, but then I notice changes in the mirror and how I feel much more easily when I'm at a lower weight. Now 5 pounds seems like a huge difference, and when I was heavier 5 pounds didn't feel or look like much at all. So although it can be frustrating to see the scale moving more slowly, it is still…
  • More of a "losing weight for the wedding" tip (although biggest tip - don't lose weight JUST for your wedding, health is more for just an event). Get a dress that you can alter easily. I LOVED my dress, and it was super easy to get fittings done for, and I lost weight up until the week before, so if I wasn't able to get it…
  • I think that is takes a long time to actually "see it", especially since the weight loss is relatively slow. I began to feel it in my clothes and energy level pretty quickly though, and that is what really felt best. I also see the scale move at a relatively reliable rate. I didn't notice a huge change in the mirror until…
  • Hi! I'm a second year medical student. I lost about 25 pounds during MS1 year. I gained a little back over the past 6 months but I am still within a healthy weight range. I'm looking to lose another 15 pounds and I will be very happy. Never thought I could lose weight in medical school - but it can be done! I think 3rd and…
  • Second year med student! Lost about 25 pounds last year during MS1. Looking to lose about 15 more.
  • Awesome, so exciting! I would definitely just have the seamstress work with you and it will be amazing :) I agree, it's amazing what seamstresses can do. I know some dresses get fussy and can't be altered more sizes based on their structure or any beading/design they have. But if the seamstress says its doable than it…
  • That's the worst! I very much when people tell me to stop/I don't need to lose anymore (it's my body not theirs lol, although I know they are trying to be nice/sweet). I would definitely ask them. If I were in that position I would probably order it at the size I am now before I lose more weight (which is also why I ended…
  • Thank you guys! So I lost about 25/30 pounds between when I got my dress (off the rack, woo!) and when I had my wedding. I was very lucky because the kind of dress I got required few alterations because I had already lost most of my weight on the top half of my body. I am a bit disproportionate in weight loss, my top half…
  • My biggest NSV to date: I did NOT lose weight for my wedding, but it was a huge motivator. I started at 181 pounds at my highest weight, and I lost 51 to reach 130 pounds by my wedding. I've seen some photos from friends and family, our pro pics aren't in yet, but I think I looked beautiful (and felt beautiful too!), and…
  • Just had my wedding a week ago and it was AMAZING!!! Just a little inspiration for everyone who is trying to lose for the big day - it was SO worth it. I felt great (healthy and beautiful) and I am so proud of myself for losing the weight for my wedding. I have a few pictures from family and friends and I love looking at…
  • Feel free to add me! I'm 25 and have lost 51 pounds. I started at 181 and I am 130 pounds now. I would like to lose another 10.
