I use PURE whey from this website (www.strongerfasterhealthier.com) it's about 140 calories per scoop. GREAT protein! Derived from Grass-Fed beef, no metals, very easy on the stomach. I am a fan of the Pure because I know what else I'm adding. There are also Pre-/Post-/Recovery/Daily Balance versions of the protein. Also,…

I'm a Louisville native :) Lived there until I was 25, now I move around a lot.

I am a former military wife. My husband got out about a year ago to be a stay-at-home-dad. I am, however, still currently serving in the military myself so I get what you are going through ;) Feel free to add me if you want!

Your best bet would be to go to a true running store and have them size you for running shoes. A good running store will watch you run and pair you with shoes that support your style of running. Running shoes can make all the difference between pain in the legs, knees, and feet! Took me a long time to find the perfect pair…

Same here, I used to love me some fried food. Started eating healthier and cutting out junk. My unit went out to a fast food spot after an airport run to deploy a member of our squadron. I almost didn't make it back to the base! I felt terrible all day!

My HRM said I burned 44 calories during Ab Ripper X last night. While I didn't believe that I would have a huge burn, but dang! I would have thought it was more than 44 calories!
-
I wonder about this as well. My spin bike tells me that I am burning about 600 calories in 60 mins, where my HRM (duo 1010 women's) said I burned 431. That is a difference of 169 calories. I do a lot of standing and resistance while riding, so I hope the HRM is reading on the low side.

I had two c-sections as well 2007/2009. I workout pretty much everyday since I'm in the military and this damn stomach pooch will not leave my body :(

Airborne Meteorologist- my computer set up at work has more than one computer screen ;) One is for weather, the other is for email, MFP, and Facebook. That is of course when I am in the office and not jumping out of planes.....

Another thing I found that helped me get back into the swing of things after injury (I'm very accident prone: currently have a torn ATFL that needs surgery) and having children was to have a pacer. The Air Force doesn't have anything in the AFI that says you can't run your test with a pacer. If having someone pull you…

^^^^this...there is no perfect airplane! I've jumped a C130, C17, Osprey (V-22), and Casa. I was ready to jump out of all of them :)

below 30 = 16:22 or less 30-39= 16:57 or less 40-50= 18:14 or less as you age, the time to complete increases :) Either way, you got this!

I static line jump for the Air Force :) They pay me to jump out of planes! I'm an Airborne Meteorologist.

Another Air Force member here, only difference is I'm active duty. Your min time for 1.5 miles is 16:58, if you are under 30. This is obtainable by August if you are willing to put in the work. The few things that will help you are; increasing your running distance (longer runs), interval training (sprint the straights and…

bump, because I would like to know too! I want to know cals burning during exercise and through out the day (if that's possible, I'm sure it is and I don't know about it)
-
When I get like that. I drink water...lots of water. Or, I brush my teeth like you said. Lastly, I just workout to take my mind off of wanting to eat.

I have torn ligaments in my foot and the podiatrist told me I am only allow to ride a bike. It's really good cardio and tones your legs quite nicely. I have my own spin bike at home, which make getting cardio pretty easy. Plus, you can set the resistance to where it works for you. Hope you foot heals soon!
-
Agreed. Let yourself heal 5-7 days isn't really that long of a recovery time. When you start back easy into it. Maybe try a recumbent bike at first.

except I mine was named Air Force. Also, I hash run....so yep!

Same here! Still a little lost :(

Spend a little more time traveling! Don't give up on your dreams so fast, you just finished culinary school. It will be a while before you "make it". Gordon Ramsey didn't do it over night. Joining the military isn't bad thing, it's just not your ideal career.

I've been a runner for most of my life, and I still get itchy. (Mostly on my legs) But now that I have taken up spinning, I get it on my chest as well. I was also told it's circulation.

Same here! Black tea with a little non fat milk, 2 packs of splenda=heaven!
-
I love my spin bike! I also love to run, but currently I have a torn AFTL and I'm unable to at the moment.
-
Just finished day 6! Finally did every last one of those push ups...the real deal ones :) my calf started hurting pretty bad during the jumping jacks, but I hung through the rest of the video. Lesson of the day, don't help a co-worker move, do an hour spin class, then try 30 day shred.....My body hates me right now!
-
Pardon my ignorance, but what does ACV do for you?

I'm 5'6" started at 155 trying to work my way to 125ish. I am at 149 right now.

I have a torn ATFL, so I can totally relate to you. It is very frustrating! I had just ran my first half marathon and had a parachuting injury which landed me in a hard cast and talks of surgery. Since, I am walking around now but still in pain. I pushed the surgery back to deploy with my unit (as I'm military), so I still…

Yesterday was my day 3. I did all the push ups (regular) except the last 3, usually the last 5 I drop down and do the "girl" version. Getting stronger! I, too, was dripping in sweat. I am sore today, but look forward to day 4 when I get home from work! Congrats to everyone on pushing through it!
