I couldn't find any in Melbourne markets (CBD and North of the city), but I found some seeds at CERES (sorry, up in Brunswick) and grew some in my garden. They take a while to grow but each squash is massive and they keep forever once you've picked them. If you have some room, I'd recommend growing some.

W1D1 here as well :) In my experience, if you can stick with it the first 2-3 weeks, it's actually hard to quit later on. I've done the C25K before, but didn't maintain afterwards and so I am back. At least this time around, I know it works.

Hi, I've been on MFP for a little while now and find the forums keep me motivated. But I've been in a bit of a slump lately and realise it's now time that I try this 'friends' option as well :) My main motivations for being fit are to grow older, but not weaker, and to brighten my mood. Friends with different objectives…

It really depends what kind of recreation you have in mind and how often you plan on cooking yourself. I moved to Melbourne last year and found the cost of living to be high compared to home (Canada), however it's definitely possible to keep spending on the low side. First thing I would recommend is to cook as much as…

Congrats! You sound like you are in the right head space. I quit smoking about 7 months ago (after trying for 1.5 yrs) and I feel great! Withdrawal symptoms vary a lot. My worst symptom was I felt like I had a cold/fever for the first week. Non-stop sneezing and a foggy brain... really not that bad when you think about it.…

You can always try : http://www.8700.com.au/kj-in-food/search-foods/ It lists quite a few fast-food chain items, but as far as I can tell, you need to search for something particular. You can then refine your results by chain/company. In Melbourne, some Fish n Chip spots offer grilled fish and salad options and a local…

I was always told that I could do any excercise I liked, unless it made my back hurt. I've noticed when I ''run'' harder, my lower back aches for about a day afterwards. To be safe, I run with my feet barely lifting off and do small strides instead of big ones. And I contract my abs (when I can remember!). I've noticed I…

Awesome! I've been wondering what I could do to protect my knees :) Thanks.

I'm still debating on the 10k also. I won't quite be done B210K by then, but might give it a go anyhow.

I'm in the Brunswick area of Melbourne and while I'm not looking for workout buddies right now, I'd love some hiking suggestions and company. And if you know of anything accessible by public transit, even better!

I repeated W5D2 this week because I was really struggling with the 8 mins. Planned to do another W5D2 again tonight before progressing, but strangely felt good and decided to push a bit past the 8 mins. I kept telling myself ''just an extra minute, just to the next intersection, just until the end of this song... '' and…

Same here :) ... From Montreal originally. I've even found a fries shop that offers chips with ''french-canadian gravy'' and cheese in Melbourne... Of course the cheese is all wrong (think grated cheddar), but I was thrilled to find that someone was selling my beloved poutine in this hemisphere!

Good luck with your party. A party is what ''broke'' me last week. Not so much the party itself, but the drinking. Unfortunately, drinking and smoking go together so well in my mind. I hadn't smoked for a month and was feeling pretty damn proud of myself so I figured I could have a few drinks and be fine... I ended up…

My partner has been using SCD on and off for about a year and definitely feels better when he's eating by SDC. Before that, I had been looking for diets that helped with Crohn's/UC/IBS and it's ridiculous how current medicine says diet and digestives diseases are not related... really? What I found to reduce flare-ups at…

Newbie to MFP here. I've just begun the C25K as well and am at W2D1. So glad to find this group! Keep your updates coming!
