I need to re-lose at least 30, so feel free to add me. I am getting back into logging daily and need some accountability partners.

Check out this video. Very interesting information on how sugar may be the main culprit in the obesity epidemic. Too much sugar can and does have a negative effect on the body. Even too much "natural" sugar from fruit. I really like how they mention the whole "calories in vs. calories out" thought process is wrong. It is…

El Lago tortilla chips. I could seriously eat the entire bag in one sitting. Even with nothing to dip them in.

I am 46 and have struggled most of my life with my weight. I got as high as 278lbs and was able to drop about 25lbs by riding my bike. Was stuck there for a while and then joined MFP last year. Since joining MFP I have dropped 40lbs with about 30 more to go. I have now added running to my bike riding and am plan on running…

I would check out the Giant XTC hardtail line. With your budget, you should be able to get the aluminum XTC and upgrade some of the components (wheels and brakes). I was thinking about 29'er FS, but after an extended ride (2+ hours) on a Yeti SB95 yesterday I am not so sure. The bike was very smooth and rolled over…

Texas Hill Country for sure. I love to bike ride and you can do it pretty much year round here (sunny and 81F today). Only other places I would consider might be Santa Fe, Moab, or Bend Oregon.

I have always been a bike a rider for my aerobic workouts because I was up around 270-280 and didn't want o blow up my knees. When I got down to 220, my bike needed work and I couldn't afford to get it fixed and I needed to keep working out so I started running. I figured that since I could easily ride 40+ miles that…

This is an amazing interview of Stuart Scott from ESPN who is fighting cancer. I challenge everyone to listen to it. http://espn.go.com/espnradio/play?id=8848997 One of the great points is where Stuart Scott mentions being upset you were "conned into donating money to Livestrong because the guy cheated, where is your…

We all have lied and cheated at some point. And hurt people close to us doing it. Am I disappointed he took this long to admit it and tried to bully others to keep it covered up? Yes. But, ultimately it does not matter. I wonder how many people on here are actually affected in any way by what Lance Armstrong (or any other…

I know the feeling. I have been stuck for a few months and then actually gaine some during the holidays. But, I have recently made some changes and am starting to see the scale move. As crazy as it sounds, I upped my calorie goal by about 400 and it has helped. Check the suggestions on this thread to see where it says your…

Howdy neighbor! Not sure I can help with workout suggestions (with cerebral Palsy, I would recommend a trained therapist :)) but am happy to do what I can for motivation and support. I have found MFP to be a great place with some good people and a lot great ideas.

'There are three kinds of lies: lies, damned lies, and statistics.' - that sums up the "study" BMI is useful when measuring a large group or society. And that makes it an easy barometer for insurance companies to use when setting rates. While at the individual level it may not be the best, I can promise you the insurance…
