  • When I first signed up for MFP, I gave in to the "Paleo" craze (it was new-ish back then). In an effort to be "healthier", I tried drinking coffee with a tablespoon of coconut oil mixed in instead of my usual Coffeemate creamer. I felt like I was drinking a candle. Candle Coconut Coffee: 117 cal (tbsp coconut oil)…
  • Google it rather than asking on here. Trust me, you're only going to get replies like: Or people telling you why they think veganism is bad, and how they lost so much bodyfat by eating cheeseburgers everyday, blahblahblah. No, I'm not a vegan (farrrr from it actually)
  • @Sez3199 to quote Night of the Living Dead... "they're coming to get you, Sez3199"
  • Lol i get it. I asked a question maybe 2 years ago: "has anyone tried adipowers for lifting?" only to receive such responses as: "anything with a wide toe box and flat sole is fine!" or "i lift in socks" or "i lift, i do, i think, me me me me me me"... OH! I was lifting in stilettos this whole time. Thanks! Hence why my…
  • So this is happening. I reformatted your statement of "Soooo, my take away from all of this etc" into the question: "So should I just eat real ice cream, perhaps with a tablespoon of real peanut butter stirred in?" Forgive me for misinterpreting your statement as a question, and providing an answer. Wasn't trying to be…
  • Sarcasm is lost in posts. You asked a question, I answered.
  • Yes. But measure your portions.
  • #TeamRoundFace and proud
  • canned tuna in water and all-whites (liquid egg whites). cheap, low(er) calorie, lots and lots of protein
  • ^^ i LOL'd. I only make banana ice cream when my bananas have gone past the point of salvation. that or I bake some damn good banana walnut muffins. +1 for PB2. Definitely not as good as the real deal, but if you want the flavor without the calories, it's a decent sub. I never eat it alone, just mix it in with my whey…
  • OP: " I've tried almond milk". Considering that regular milk that other people suggested is more widely known than almond milk which she has already tried, one can assume she's tried regular milk. Just my line of thinking. We can agree to disagree.
  • Probably got flagged for being unhelpful. Lots of posts in here that look like people just trying to get their post count up, because I'm PRETTY SURE OP has already tried milk and found it not as satisfying. I swear you ask one question in these threads and the thread junkies are all over it like you asked something…
  • http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/big-on-a-budget-food-shopping-like-animal-with-frank-mcgrath.html Might come up to even cheaper since your caloric requirements are way less than his
  • Add me! I'm not too active in the forums but I always reply to direct messages :)
  • My boyfriend "didn't like" broccoli or turkey the same way your SO doesn't like veggies or salmon. I do the grocery shopping and the cooking. If he "doesn't like" what I cook, he can starve. Or go shopping himself and cook his own food. He eats broccoli and turkey all the time now.
  • this was actually hard for me because i eat every GD thing ever. - bitter melon. it looks like cantaloupe/honeydew when sliced, then you bite into it and get punched in the mouth - most proteins cooked over medium-rare (obviously not chicken and some others). beef tartare is my FAVORITE - skim milk. to quote Ron Swanson:…
  • It might be too much work to try to avoid drinking plain water, but a few of my regulars at this bar I've worked at used to order seltzer water mixed with one tbsp fat-free half and half and sugar free flavored syrup. The ladies called it "a skinny italian soda". Tried it once sans the half and half, because ew. The sugar…

  • I have a hard time hitting my protein macros without getting too full from food, so I drink protein shakes to get to my daily minimum. Cellucor Cinnamon Swirl protein powder is the BEST THING EVER. It tastes like Cinnamon Toast Crunch! If you're looking to increase your protein intake AND curb your sweet cravings,…
  • Had a reallyyyyy delicious Butternut Squash Pad Thai last night (and the leftovers for lunch today) from this local place. I wish I'd taken a picture so I could post it. It was amazinggg!! I'm sure this isn't the exact recipe, but I want butternut squash pad thai everyday now! (And no, I'm not Thai lol)…
  • If you have the time, nothing wrong with cooking dinner fresh every night. As for lunch, the only alternative to not having a microwaved pre-prepped meal is to order takeout or eat things that you don't have to heat up (I assume you can't go home and cook a fresh meal at lunch, nor do you have a fully equipped kitchen…
  • I think there's a huge difference between the "meanies" and the "know-it-alls". Mean/blunt/straight forward, whatever you call it... I don't see anything wrong with it. If what they're saying is true and *necessary* (this is key), no need to sugar coat anything. The "know-it-alls" are the ones who hijack threads and don't…
  • I'm in! I love the positive vibes here B)
  • @tat2cookie your post made me hungry! <3 Check out pinterest for "muffin pan eggs". There's a ton of recipes for eggs made in a muffin pan and they come out like mini frittatas. You can cook up a bunch when you have time, then store them and just nuke them in the microwave when you're ready to eat.
  • Welcome to MFP :) As a lot of people have already mentioned, meal prep is soooo imperative when logging food for weight loss. When I started, I found that pre-logging my entire day's meals on the evening prior helped me stay on track. Sometimes I still do that if I know I'm going to have a hectic day.
  • Unless you're at <15% bodyfat (women) or in the single digit %'s of bodyfat for men AND in the final weeks or days of contest prep, I don't see a "weight loss" supplement having any noticeable effect. I assume you're not in this category since you said you have 30 lbs to go. That being said, diuretics are your best bet if…
