  • That's awesome. I'm glad you found somewhere that should be able to help! It's a big step to ASK for a seek out help - many don't even take that leap. Good luck! You're never alone.
  • I'm extremely self conscious, EXTREMELY. However, at the gym, unless my gut is showing because my shirt is too short or my shorts or riding up in between my legs I give none f*cks. The gym is really the only place I feel this way though. I'm there for the purpose of looking a mess when I leave. I'm also normally there when…
  • Bagel thins, TO ME - aren't nearly as awesome as NYC bagels. They don't have that thick "need to be ripped through" outside and are more like bread shaped like a bagel. It's depressing. I wish they'd make REAL bagels in a thin form. OP - I agree with having a 1/4 of a bagel. It's Friday and you REALLY want one. Depriving…
  • Chest hair is the greatest. I love running my fingers through it.
  • Um...I feel super shallow and terrible for this one - so I guess judge away, but I have a belly - I wish I could provide a picture, but it's like my gut is on a shelf. I've got a flat stomach from my hip bones and across, but my belly fat is all gross and stuff above that. Anyway, I'm extremely terrified of being one of…
  • If I could, I'd go to Sam's and buy another box of Jimmy Dean D'Lite's turkey sausage, egg and cheese muffins. Holy crap those are delicious. (now I'm sad I dont have them. Not getting them at Sam's costs $7.50 for a box of 4 instead of $12 for 12!) But since I don't have a Sam's membership or a chest freezer anymore, I…
  • I think this is rude. Depression is caused by a chemical imbalance. Balancing out those chemicals with medication, many people can live normal lives where their depression was dehabilitating beforehand.
  • Well that's just genius. I have this problem too, OP. I've fallen asleep on the floor putting my shoes on before (thinking, if I put my skeakers on I'll be good!). It takes talent, but I'm nothing if I'm not talented at sleeping. I actually GROWLED at my husband this morning when he smacked me because my alarm was going…
  • I think you need to think about what you're asking here - is your emotional and mental health less important to you than a few extra pounds? For what it's worth, I've been on about 4 different medications for depression - I was initially on Welbutrin for the reason you are worried about it, because it's supposed to help…
  • Lots and lots of water helps too - lactic acid is messing with me now too. Hate it!
  • Don't stay in the tent, crazy! Go on a hike, rent a bike or a canoe or something. Do something out of the ordinary! You're camping in nature - ENJOY IT!
  • HA! Good point! I was hoping to be lulled into sleep with a warming sesation that might help my beast quads calm down overnight, but alas, it was a bad time. Next time, real ice! (and I'll save my olive oil for cooking...)
  • 1, How long did you plan? I guess technically it was a year and a half, but I didn't do much until about 8 months out. 2. How much did you spend? (sorry if that's personal) Was this more/less than you planned? Roughly $12k, it was about what we expected 3. How many people were invited/ how many showed up? about 100/about…
  • HA! I am, in fact, at the point where I'm bracing myself in the bathroom...my husband laughed his *kitten* off at me this morning! It's such a beautiful thing. This isn't a localized pain, definitely just my quads revolting against my exercise yesterday. Looks like ill be stopping at the store for some aleve and Epsom salt…
  • Is it okay for me to go on a detox diet and then get those foot pad things that suck the toxins out of your body through the soles of your feet? Will it make me skinny?
  • Actually, last night my husband was DYING for McD's so we got it. My medium fries had game pieces, his large fries and drink didn't.
  • My thoughts exactly...and I never noticed that the food was supremely healthy...
  • I could eat bland food all day, every day - and the same thing every day for lunch and dinner and be perfectly fine. However, my husband needs lots of flavor and variety, especially when I'm making something more on the healthy side. Seasonings, marinades and spices (as long as they aren't crazy with sodium) are your best…
  • Thanks! I actually am a HUGE sleeper - we normally get in bed around 9 and fall asleep by 9:30 and I woke up at 6:15 (instead of my usual 6:45 - 7) so I should have had enough sleep, but I'll try to get in bed a touch earlier on nights I plan to work out the next day. I just grabbed a snack too (apple) so hopefully that…
  • YES! Keep your change far, far away. That vending machine stuff can be awful. I know I personally would have an issue getting a granola bar or something like that if Reeses Peanut Butter Cups or Cheddar and Sour Cream Ruffles were in my face. I'm a snacker too - I've tried to have sugar free gum around and always some…
  • I've actually done the fall flat on your face on the treadmill and have it move you backwards into the machine behind you thing. Not exactly a fun experience in my college gym filled with hot guys and tiny little gorgeous girls in spandex. It was a loud boom. :(
  • Yes. Exactly what I was thinking. The jingle goes "the best part of waking up is Folgers in your CUP" - not in your butt. Ack.
  • I'm 5'11 too. It's so nice to see the tall kids represented! I'm at 215 right now in a size 16 but some of my 14s still fit. I'm hoping to eventually get to 175, but I haven't seen that since high school when I was playing basketball for 2 hours/5 days a week. I feel good at about 190, but I really want to push myself to…
  • Ha - that's EXACTLY what I was planning to title MY intro. We're back at it together, I guess! I need to lose the 20 lbs I've gained since I moved to NC in July - and I need to get my butt off the couch and back into my one pair of size 12s and my decent work pants! Good luck!
