  • Watch the nuts though! I tend to over do it on the nuts. I think that is hindering me so I'm limiting them. But I think the other suggestions (specially adding butter or coconut oil) are great ones!
  • WOW So good to see so many low carbers on the site!!! I am also type 2 Diabetic....I personally TRY (I've fell off the wagon lately trying to get back on!) to stay at 6 12 12 (breakfast lunch and dinner) that is the Dr Bernstein way. It really helped me get my diabetic numbers in control! If anyone wants to add me, feel…
  • WOW! I have a friend who is also working on this program and I am interested in trying. Your results are amazing! I'm just worried I'm not going to be able to commit to the time. I usually go to the gym at work but after work I'm so busy. So I'll have to see how I can work it in...thanks for sharing your results!!
  • Not sure if this is the exact recipe I have, but I make something similar. I do add a little Splenda or Truvia...and it's awesome. Really great with chili!
  • If you are avoiding sugar don't eat too much protein as it does turn to glucose in your blood. I know not many folks here are doing "low carb" but if you are, you shouldn't avoid good fats. You can get energy from fat vs carbs. Not sure that makes any sense...I have to watch and not go over on my protein.
  • I also LOVE the Black Dagger Brotherhood! Fantastic series! I also like her other series...Fallen Angels!
  • Thanks for sharing your story and pictures! Such an inspiration! You look great! And very happy!
  • Well said!! I am 5'11" and I would date taller or shorter, but my preference would be someone taller. And I agree with one of the other posters...5'9" is not short!
  • YAYYYYYYYYYYYYY bacon!!!! Since I started doing low carb I am in HEAVEN able to eat bacon and eggs...what is better than that???? NOTHING! I would give up bread and pasta any day to be allowed some fat. And it works! :)
  • WOW what a transformation! You did a great job with your pictures. It is so inspiring to see how you went along, not just one before and after! All your hard work has surely paid off!!! Thanks for sharing with all of us!
  • I started low carb in April and have lost about 18lbs so far. I am diabetic, so there is no going back. No breads, pasta, rice, potatoes etc. I am allowed fats. It is so much more satisfying. So many good low carb recipes out there. After the first few weeks I have lost my hard cravings for chips and fries. (not that I…
  • I just started full out in April...it was SO hard for me to get up in the morning. NOW it's like habit, up at 515 to go on my 30 minute run/walk.(my goal is to run for 30 minutes!) Baby steps. I go to the gym at lunch. I have friends that go and that helps, but in the end you only have YOU pushing you on!!! And the rest of…
  • I'm diabetic in the process of trying ot get my blood sugars in control. Therefore I have to give up fruit for the most part. :( I can have berries in moderation, but other fruits really bring my blood sugar up!
  • THANKS IT WORKED! :) YAY!
  • OK I'm going to give it a shot. This is from 2000 when I was at my heaviest of 280 or maybe more? I've been up and down a million times since then, but never got back to the heaviest. But here I am now: (239) A long way to go, seeing all these pictures is really inspiring!!
  • I love all these before and afters! So Inspiring!!! I need to figure out how to post pictures...I have a before and during. :)
  • I have been going to my office gym since September 2011 taking different classes, yoga, boxing, sports conditioning, etc. I started "running" in April. Not too long ago someone I have seen around the gym in classes but didn't really know told me I was really looking good! And I've had several people tell me I'm looking…
  • Wow, great to read everyone's story. I just started "running" (lope, jog, shuffle) in April to add to my daily workouts. I'm sort of doing the C25K, well not officially, I am just doing intervals. I am up to 1.5 minutes...today I ran 3 minutes. Seems like NOTHING compared to the rest of you! But man when I ran the 3…
  • I finally caught up with Hungry Girl's episodes on my DVR and had to look up the granola recipe! Thanks for posting! I went out and got the stuff for that, the Kale chips AND squash fries. The jury is still out on the Kale Chips. They seemed bitter to me...but I think I overcooked it a little, I'll try it one more time.…
  • I like mine two ways...one with a few pecans, half a banana and Splenda brown sugar blend. ORRRR, and apple diced up, a little of the brown sugar blend, pecans and cinnamon. Both faves of mine!!
