I feel like no one explained the muscle VS fat thing very well. "People often say that muscle weighs more than fat, but that is a misstatement. Muscle is actually more dense than fat, so a pound of muscle takes up less space than fat. Another way to look at fat versus muscles is that a cubic inch of muscle will weigh more…

Okay, so walking is OK? I feel like if I have to walk I should start my week over or something... idk why

Awesome, guys! I've been putting off following a program until I could run the 1st week easy at a 9min mile pace. I think I'll just slow it down to 6mph (or maybe lower at first) and start the program on Monday! (The longest run in the 1st week is 4-5 miles, I believe. I couldn't do that at my regular pace, but I know I…

Also- yes, this is my 1st half. The longest race I've run is a 10K.

This was really helpful, thank you all! So it seems like the most important thing to do is make sure I am running a lot, and for a decent amount of time. Focus on speed later into it, an even then still focus on distance. I've been running fast and burning out after 20 minutes or so. I think I'll slow it down and go on…

IMHO, it isn't a good idea to rest for an entire week. A day or two, maybe. Most people do strength and then cardio afterwards. I'd recommend that 3-4 days per week. If you really want to do the flip flog thing though, rotate the workouts per day, not per week.

haha yup. I remember playing on the top of tall slides with my 4 brothers (I'm only 19 now lol) and sometimes strangers would tell us off. Usually one of my brothers would make a rude comment back and we'd keep doing whatever we wanted. Kids KNOW if their own parent is going to support your telling them what to do. If…

If you don't want to count calories, may i suggest visiting http://www.choosemyplate.gov/supertracker-tools/daily-food-plans.html I find that making sure I get the right amount of each food groups prevents me from eating crap that is within my calorie range. Also, you don't have to count cals, just make sure you get…

Another thing you can do is this (I don't know the name): get on your hands and knees (like a dog not a plank but still keep your core tight) with one leg, kick backwards and towards the ceiling. switch legs. you should feel it in your glutes
-
In Pilates we had to do leg circles- lay on your back, with one knee bent and that foot on the ground. Raise the other leg and point your toe at the ceiling. Start with small circles (draw them with your toe). Do 10. Then 10 medium circles, and if you can then do 10 huge circles. Switch directions and repeat. Then switch…

You speak truth! It's annoying seeing people eat so little for the sole reason that I begin to doubt my own methods. But it seems to me that the girls who are active and eat normal but on the healthy side tend to look the best. Those salad-nibblers don't last.

Raspberries! You can eat an entire little box of them for under 100 calories. It was a pleasant surprise.

haha or this ^^^^ maybe you're blaming yourself when it's the PANTS.

Sodium would cause water retention (bloating). Keep an eye on your intake- it shouldn't take long to deflate if you're just bloated- give your body a few days to flush the crap out.

My main advice to a yo-yo dieter is to log EVERYTHING, even when you're eating bad (because we all mess up). You'll find that just the act of logging will cause you to eat less and probably healthier.

THIS ^^^ same thing happened to me.
