Half-Marathon Training Program

I'm finally going to start one. I've been doing light cardio and lifting consistently, but I really need to whip my heart into shape!
I'm looking for a buddy or two (or three) to do this with me. We can check up on each other, report how we felt after each run, share stretching tips, ect. I just want someone to answer to who won't quit on me :)

Obviously you have to be able to do a 5K run without stopping as of right now.

I'm 19, 136 lbs, 5'5" with a goal of 120 lbs :)

    I'm 4 weeks out from my second Half. My plan is similar but not the same as yours and I'm on a calorie defecit too. Feeling pretty tired today from yesterdays Farlek intervals and this morning's easy run. Tomorrow's intervals will no doubt kick my *kitten* once again. Saturday is an easy run and Sunday is my long run day. I think it's 18kms this time.

    You are welcome to add me and follow my progress and share encouragement. Might give you a glimpse into your future :-)

    I am already in to my training, my half is on September 23rd. But feel free to add me if you like, I have a lot of MFP women runners as friends and we are all very supportive. :)

    hi i am in my first week of (my first) half marathon training, my race is on the 28th October, im taking advice from my MIL who is quite experienced and knows my fitness levels and knows how to push me x

    Hey Rae - my HM is on 28 October- when's yours? I'll join you on this tho I will probably have to swap around my days a lot as I have v unpredictable working hours! The schedule looks about my plan - 4 runs a week + 1 (or maybe a cheeky 2) cross trainings :happy:

    I'm 26, 138lbs, 5'4" with a goal weight of 126 if I ever get there (I really struggle to get any lighter, even when I ran a marathon I only went down to 134lbs!)

    Is it your first HM?

    I'm postponing it until monday the 20th cause I need to do a few 5Ks first to get my body back into the swing of running.(worse shape than I thought XD)
