Mom of a 2 year old and a 4 month old. Need to lose 70 lbs and get rid of this knee pain. Just started a week ago!

Please add me. Thanks!

Mine hasn't worked for about a week.

Thanks! It is really helpful to hear this! I would love to see pics of two women of the same height where one is a couple sizes bigger than the other, yet looks better -- has a better/fitter shape. I would look at that pic everyday for inspiration!

So after trying to hit 30% protein for a few months I kind of accepted that I don't think I'm meant to go quite that high. I'm a vegetarian, and my body just hates "added" protein that you find in bars, shakes, and cereals. So I've basically been at 50% carbs/ 30% fat / 20% protein I'd be interested to hear your story.

ok, dumb question, but what is the difference between LBM and muscle? Is LBM just everything that isn't fat? In general, I do think my metabolism is better/faster than it was a year ago. I would just really like to find that sweet spot. So, heybales I'm not sure if I totally understand what you are suggesting I should eat…

Lorina, you look amazing!! Really inspirational, thank you.

Hi, thanks for your comments. heybales -- my Katch BMR is 1487, and my Harris BMR is 1452, so a difference of 35 cals. My BF according to your spreadsheet is 25%. My calipers show it to be lower, but I might not be using them correctly. Over the past three weeks I am guessing I've gained about three pounds. About 2 inches…

Thanks you guys. I am leaning towards the cut at about 1900. Maybe I'll start at 2000 for a week. Hmmmm. . .
-
Thanks, I am 5'7 and wt. is 155. Age is 38. Not sure what my BMI is. I did a BMF report for the last 28 days and got this: Daily average cals burned: 2413 Daily average cals consumed: 2081 Daily average cal deficit: 332 Daily average physical activity: 2 hours, 50 mins. This is usually all in the "moderate" category, which…

Thanks so much all for taking the time to reply. I'm just struggling with my numbers these days (see the other post I just posted).
-
LOL! I like cheese too:) It's hard to know how much is "too much" though . . .
-
My fitbit gives me a lower cal burn, though I have to guess at my cals burned during lifting, etc. and with BMF I don't record any exercise at all -- I just go with what the BMF says. I just have such a hard time believing that I should eat more. I already eat 2200 cals and and starting to feel fluffier over the past…

lol, i should have known heybales found this already!!

Nice work! I am so jealous of your thighs and hips going down!! I just finished Push (I did 6 weeks, actually). No change in my measurements, but I was not cutting calories in the Burn phase.
-
I say do what you love in your "spare" time or life will be a drag. The calorie deficit is what matters. How you create it is up to you. And you are already lifting, which should be enough on its own! Rock on!
-
Those look great!! Thanks!! Technically supposed to stay away from agave, but I bet I could have one of these once and while--or soon, anyway!
-
Thanks, you guys. It's really interesting to know that there are others out there with the same situation. Maybe I'm just overwhelmed because I've only been doing this about two weeks. I am going to look at your diaries! I think one issue is that I can't handle eating much volume at one time, so I need to figure out how I…

For those of who who have IBS, check into the symptoms of Candida overgrowth (in the gut). I just found out that this is what I've had off and on for six years and finally everything is making sense. The most inflamatory thing you can eat is sugar in all its forms, and gluten. Right now I cannot eat any gluten, sugar (and…

I am also hungrier the day after. But how could a fitbit monitor this? It is basically a pedometer. I enter my workouts manually.
-
This is funny because I was JUST going to post the same question today. I have IBS, and right now it is horrible and combined with another condition -- and it essentially means I am going to be forced to eat way fewer calories than I want, and all sorts of problems. Guess we can discuss privately. I am so damn jealous of…

Yea!! So happy for people who have spouses that are understanding throughout this process!

Hi, the reset is eating your real Total Daily Energy Expenditure (TDEE) for several weeks--it lets your body readjust to the number of calories it should really be getting. To lose weight you then start cutting a small sensible amount such as10 or 20%. This really helps people who have messed around with very low calorie…
-
Well, logically it sure makes sense to me to start with a smaller one. I was just wondering if there was some sort of body reaction I didn't know about since I seem to learn new things every day around here! Oh well, all I can do is try. It's not like I'm going to be "wasting" any time since I will learn from everything I…

I'd like to know more info about barbells too. Mainly--what weights should the different plates be and what should they go up to (total weight with all plates used)?
-
Congrats!! I'm so glad you shared this! I hope to read something like this every day!
-
My thighs have gotten bigger. I am also on metabolism Reset, so some of it could be fat but I don't think much of it is based on how my legs feel. My thighs/ butt have always been my biggest/strongest muscles. I think I have gained muscle, plus the water retention from lifting, plus a little fat from Reset. My…

So happy to hear this -- congrats!! Thanks for posting--I looove hearing this kind of stuff. Keeps it REAL.

I am actually extending Push to 6 weeks so I can build as much strength as possible!

I think there are too few activity categories on Scooby to choose from. The jump between categories is too big. This is why a fitbit helps. For me, Scooby gives me a TDEE of about 2250. My fitbit has shown me over two months that my average burn per day is about 2100. Depending on the day I burn 1900 to 2300.
