I only work abs 1-2 times a week - full body heavy lifting takes care of the rest. This is my routine (and the one I always go back to even when I try to change it up a bit) 3 sets of weighted hanging leg raise 3 sets of lying leg raise 3 sets of air bicycle (bicycle crunch) Ab wheel is also effective. But like I say,…

I work each muscle group on separate days so I lift x5 a week - chest & abs, back, shoulders, legs and arms. I do about a 10 minute warm up of light lifting and take 2 min breaks between sets. I usually spend around 45-60 mins lifting.

Consider it a bulk day and eat more :-D

Wake up at 5am to workout at 5:30-6am.

Fave : deadlift, hands down. (I always look forward to back day) Love/hate : back squats Least fave : front squats and barbell bench press (although I love dumbbell bench press, and do it waaaay more often than barbell) ETA : another love/hate : weighted hanging leg raises

I can eat what seems like a lot of chocolate flavoured things without actually eating chocolate. In my preworkout shake I have chocolate milk with unflavoured protein OR chocolate protein in milk (almond/skim/hazelnut). In my post workout oats I put chocolate protein in OR unflavoured protein with unsweetened cocoa powder…

I'm a milk fiend - love the stuff, always have. It was even my craving during pregnancy and I drunk glasses and glasses of it. I also like to alternate my milk - I go from semi skimmed cows milk, skimmed, almond, hazelnut, vanilla soy, chocolate soy, rice milk.... I don't have allergies to any (which seems to be an…

Calorie intake is a total personal thing and differs so much from person to person, it all boils down to tracking food and then adjusting it until you are achieving what it is you want. Mfp also drastically under estimates for me too. I am just under 5ft (about 4 ft 11 and 3 quarters, to be exact), I'm between 107-109lb…

Exercise became an addiction for me, but first I had to find something I loved. I tried zumba and a few other things and wasn't impressed so I kept trying different things until I came to running and I fell in love. From there, I couldn't stop! Then I started on strength and fell in love with that too. It's important you…

I had my calories set to 1, 700 and then I was adding on exercise calories. Some days I could hit it, some I would go over and others I struggled, having 400-500 remaining (remember I log my exercise cals too - I almost always net at least 1, 400). However that waswhilst I was doing a lot of running and insanity and I was…

For me it wasn't like I finished and then BAM - I had an amazing body! What I found improved most for me was my endurance which was great because I like to run. The main difference physically was my legs - after all that jump training, I gained a respectable amount of muscle in my thighs and just above my knees. It's so…

I upped my calories during insanity and lost body fat but didn't lose any scale weight at all! (which was my aim) so yes, it can be done, but be sure you are eating enough!

I seriously thought I was the only one to have a cereal addiction - when I want a snack, I grab a few handfuls of cereal (I'm known to do this all throughout the day) when I REALLY crave it I will have a bowl of cereal with milk (aswel as the handfuls)... I don't just eat it for breakfast either, I have cereal for snacks…

Read the opposite to what? Just confused as to which part you are talking about.... Mine is also from personal experience - I read tons when I first started running, but at the end of the day it is all down to trial and error. For example - some runners advocate a certain foot strike but that may not work for others. I am…

You can stretch before if you like but only AFTER you've warmed up! I don't stretch - but I warm up and I stretch after my run. How long have you been running? A lot of new runners suffer shin pain, I was plagued with pains and injuries in the first 6-8 months. I just listened to my body and rested, and iced sore shins.…

I am starting my first round of p90x Monday too, I completed insanity on Tuesday. Want to be friends? :)

I am going to weigh and remeasure tomorrow after a full day of rest - but I know there won't be a huge difference as I wasn't aiming for weight loss. I weighed a few times through out and my weight would fluctuate between -3-+3 lb. I do believe a lot of the BB workouts are designed more for athletic improvement - strength…

I ate good 90% of the time, but I believe in 'off' days - I wouldn't survive without them, and seriously for me, it's unrealistic to think I could. (kudos to those who do) but I have still made fantastic progress and my body is a lot more toned. The main part of my body to improve is my legs - they are actually quite hard…

My boyfriend has never given me trouble/snide remarks about logging - and if he cooks alone (without me) he will also ask 'do you want me to weigh this?' We actually house share with my mom so I log a lot around my mom, but she has never made a comment or made remarks. I think I haven gotten good at doing it discretely. We…

Just wanted to say I used to belly dance (self taught) and LOVED it!!! I might even start up again for some no-impact exercise, bit of a change from all the high-impact exercise. Theres lots of other things you can do - a favourite around here is the Jillian Michaels DVDS, maybe zumba, running (a great fat burner)

The best option is to invest in a HRM as the calorie burn can vary dramatically. I can burn 400 calories on one of the max workouts, but only 280 on the month 1 workouts. Whereas someone taller and bigger than me could burn anywhere from 600-1000 calories. Big difference. Get a HRM and custom log.

I have the rubber strap and in the instruction manual it says to wet the 'electrode area', the rubber bit that sits against your skin, so thats what I do. I literally run that whole bit under running water.
-
I really don't any reason why this wouldn't work.. Good luck :-)

Keep at it!!!! Jillian and 30 day shred is where I started, and although I have done more since then, I do thank Jillian for starting me off on my journey. I saw amazing results from doing 30ds and ripped in 30. I only used 2kg (4.4lb) weights but felt such a huge improvement.
-
Wow! You look amazing and you're very very pretty!!!
-
It is very hard to begin with and you do think 'HOW AM I GOING TO COMPLETE THIS?' but you do!!! You can so do it and the improvements you see in yourself (the fit test will prove it) is amazing!
-
Awesome!! Keep it up!!
-
AWESOME.... I am starting P90X soon and this makes me more excited :-)

I have just finished insanity and haven't even been on the BB website - never had a coach, don't plan to become a coach, ignore all the recommendations of shakeology (I have my own preferred 'recovery' drink & foods) But I still think BB is awesome for helping me get where I am. I also have to agree with the above comment…
