  • I too am 5'3 and my personal goal, at least for now, is actually above the 140. My heighest weight was 235- I am now at 175 with 160 as a goal. I will reevaluate once I get there. But that is somewhat irrelevant. I think that like pp said, a woman could be bigger than you and weigh 143, and could be smaller than you at…
  • this is inaccurate. Nothing weighs more than anything else! Muscle is more dense so 1 lb of muscle will take up less space (and thus you will be smaller) than 1 lb of fat. However, its still ONE LB. For someone to GAIN 3 lbs of muscle, they would be losing a LOT of fat. unlikely unless you are a body builder. I suspect its…
  • Looks like you got plenty of advice on calorie consumption so I had the need to comment on the elliptical calories burned. Unless you are using a good HRM, its hard to say what you are really burning. I usually burn only 60% of what the elliptical says (as compared to my HRM) so when the elliptical says 600, I am actually…
  • At your weight, I would skip the calories on days that you are so low. 1200 as it is, is not much for someone in the 160s range, so if you are below that AND working out, meh, skip it. But really try to plan your days better earlier on so that you consume lean protein for extra calories without much fat or carbs to get…
  • dittoooooooooooo word for word. I do not do it to drive myself nuts but to see what my calorie consumption and activity does to my weightloss, etc. I keep track of the date, weight, calories in, exercise calories, and maintenance calories, and what the loss should be each day based on the numbers alone.
  • Ever hear of macular degeneration? read up on it and egg yolks. And why the generation now most suffering from it for years were told no eggs! http://www.nutraingredients-usa.com/Research/An-egg-a-day-could-keep-AMD-at-bay
  • bump- ingredients that I always have in the house, love it!
  • anyone feel sick and tired of Jillian? I just don't have the desire to do it :( Its really sad. part of my problem is this whole situation with the neighbor downstairs and not being able to do any of the cardio portions in the living room and instead having to go out into the stairwell/landing. Its really a pain in the…
  • I am from CT too, welcome!!
  • this woman is in SERIOUS denial! http://www.mybodygallery.com/photos-924-body-shape.htm#img 166 lbs???
  • This is really cool but, unless my image of myself is really distored, not accurate for me (193 lbs, so I looked at 190, size 12/14 and 5'3. My last 3 pairs of pants were all 12s so thats what I stuck with. I honestly felt that those people were significantly bigger than me! For instance, many people that were a size 12 at…
  • some good responses already but the trend I have noticed is a lot of "quick add calories" and a few items that include calories but ZEROS across the board for carbs, sodium, protein, fat. Thats impossible. Thus, your "final numbers" are really inaccurate and you and we cannot get an accurate picture.
  • morning ladies, went on a little shred hiatus. Today is Thurs day and I have not done it since Monday and don't plan on doing it until tomorrow. It will be my 6th and final day of level 1. I am mixing it up daily and I feel god by Jillian is totally boring and I find the workout to just be a drag. I hope level 2 gets…
  • because some people, especially with less to lose or who have been losing for a long time and still have a lot to lose may need to/feel the need to eat more than 1200 calories a day. To do so and still lose the goal amount (say, 2 lbs) you need to exercise to "earn" your extra food. Not to mention that I hope we are all…
  • I did not like the corn bread at all. I love the deep chocolate tops and the banana nut.
  • if you bite it, write it. if you nibble it scribble it. EVERYTHING counts. YES you can gain weight if you ate 2000 calories a day of carrots.
  • when you say FILLED, do you mean to the top, when you say 9 inch pan, do you mean a 9 inch round or 9*13. When you say cake mix, you mean the entire box?
  • sorry, it was early. pt is, 8 cups = 2 liters :)
  • its not 8 glasses. its 8 cups. 1 cup = 64 ounces. 8 cups is approximately 2 liters. get drinking!
  • I used to work out 4 days a week but in the past few weeks its been more like 6. It varies daily. One day is 30 day shred ONLY. Another day is shred before work, upper body and some cardio (25 minutes) at the gym after work, another day, like yesterday, was just arms and cardio at the gym (1 mile run, cool down, 15 minutes…
  • while perhaps in reality you eating some of your exercise calories results in less than 1.6 lbs loss, if you are earning 300 and eating 200 back, you should be losing MORE than 1.6 lbs a week because you are creating an EXTRA deficit. If MFP sets you at 1200, that is the deficit you need for 1.6 loss a week. If you eat…
  • go to my home, settings, then diary.

  • Unless you are set to lose like 2-3 lbs per week, 1200 seems really low. At 212 lbs, the estimate for maintenance is 2100 calories, give or take. To lose 1 lb per week you should be eating 1600 calories, for 1.5 lbs per week, 1350. Make your diary public so we can give you pointers. Its a lot about WHAT you spend your 1200…
  • oh here we go again. a. it takes a LONG time for muscles to build, especially for women, WEEKS, and TONS of lifting, its hard to gain weight from muscle b. muscle IS NOT HEAVIER THAN FAT. It is more dense, so 1 lb of muscle will take up less room than 1 lb of fat. For someone to replace 2 lbs of fat with 3 lbs of muscle…
  • First off, bravo to you for reaching for a healthy lean snack, low in carbs and other crap most of us reach for as a snack. Personally, unless you are really high on sodium daily, I would not be concerned. DH and I keep kosher and kosher meat is by much higher in salt than non-kosher, there is not much we can do so I drink…
  • I am a little confused as to your post, that 1200 calories seems like lot of weight? If your current weight is 212, 1200 calories seems a bit low IMO but everyone is different. Are you exercising at all??
  • I agree with the others re: sustainable weight loss but wanted to add that the body builder lifestyle is simply NOT healthy. His goal was to cut fat and increase muscle (which should be everyone's goal) but the quickest way is the cut the carbs, this is NOT sustainable, it is not healthy. Keep in mind that just as men are…
