  • I'm in to give it my best shot.
  • Welcome. I can definitely relate to having worked to get thin only to find myself down the road back in the same...and worse...spot. This site's been great though for allowing me to really see what is going in my mouth.
  • I absolutely weigh daily. Its all part of taking control for me. If I don't weigh daily I don't feel like I have a real handle on what is happening with me, food and my weight.
  • I second the Couch to 5K program. I've always been a non-exerciser but this gives me a structured program with goals to help motivate me to get out and walk/jog at least 3 days a week.
  • Welcome. This site is great and so is the support from people.
  • I'm another 100+ pound person and would love to be part of a group with similar goals.
  • I have the same problem though I'm on at 1260 calories a day not counting exercise. I'm having a hard time even making the minimum of 1200! I'm full when I eat and to eat more would just make me feel stuffed. The best suggestion I've gotten so far is stop eating low fat items. Regular cheese, milk and such will give more…
  • I have well over 100 pounds to lose and as tempting as lap band surgery can be at times for me I have too many friends who have had it or gastric bypass and ended up with a bunch of health problems, gaining a bunch of the weight back or simply having live a food lifestyle I don't wish too. So, the old-fashioned healthy…
  • Hi and welcome! I started last week just below the 270 mark. I'm so not a WW, Jenny or any other "program" kinda girl. Like you said, they're great for short term but they don't teach you how to handle real-life, every day food. I've always hated calorie counting until I found this site. It makes it so easy. And, like…
  • Oh yeah me. Love all kinds of games, board and computer. Mostly WoW on the computer.
  • Wish I could do water aerobics but I don't have access to a pool...or gym.
  • Thanks for the suggestions. I'll switch over to regular cheese...better tasting anyway...and add it to more of my meals or snacks.
  • I do good to get the yogurt in. I eat it at my desk at work due to lack of time to eat breakfast at home before work. I'll try to add a piece of toast and some nutella.....if I don't get sidetracked by work! lol
  • Amarillo: With my work schedule I have a hard enough time getting time to eat three times a day! lol I do try to eat 2 snacks a day. I think I'll try the suggestion of nuts. I can keep a serving of those sitting on my desk and eat them as I work. Melissa: Milk is a good idea. I'll start drinking that for a least one meal…
  • In the first week, probably. You lose a lot of water weight in the first couple weeks and my experience is the heavier you are the more weight you lose right in the beginning.
  • My looooooooooooong red hair and my tat.
  • I'm looking for some friend support as well. Welcome to the site.
  • That's exactly the problem I'm starting to have during my runs....my calves are getting so tight I have to switch to walking.
  • Hi Jade. I'm new here also but really liking this site. I focus most on the calories consumed and don't stress if I'm a little over on one of the other areas on occasion. Maybe you should try changing the type of fruits you eat if sugar is a concern. Berries tend to be the lower carb fruits. Feel free to friend me!
  • It may not be a matter of how much you eat but what you eat. I just started here this week and was amazed at the amount of calories I was consuming even though I wasn't eating tons. Now that I've started changing what I eat based on the calories I've started losing.

  • I'm the same way.....sweat a lot and red face. I'm very fair skinned and think that is part of why I show red so easily. Some of us are just "lucky" to be so colourful! lol
  • Welcome! We have the same goal....just different decades. lol I'm 46 aiming to be healthier by 50.
  • My experience with Pilates is there's a lot of stuff done on your knees or on the floor. The arthritis in my knees prohibits me from kneeling on them and makes getting up off the floor very difficult. Are there Pilates stretches that are done standing?
  • Hi Brie. I'm new here as well and am definitely looking for support.
  • You're here and that's what matters. I just joined this week and love the site.

  • I finished W4 on Tuesday but have decided to repeat it before moving to W5. I was having problems during W4 with my calf and hip muscles tightening up and wanting to cramp so I am going to focus on really good stretching during my repeat week.
  • I've reached a point in life where I'm tired of eating the same 2 or 3 meals over and over all week long. So I'm trying to find an alternative to that.
