Hi, another newbie to the site here. I'm Becky, a 46 year old single woman in a very demanding, high stress career. I live in Maryland, in the DC metro area and work on Capitol Hill as a Safety and Occupational Health Manager, specializing in hazardous materials. I am 100+ pounds overweight and decided back in August that I wanted to be healthier and in better shape by the time I'm 50. This includes getting off bp and sugar meds which are both directly tied to my weight. My first step was taken four weeks ago when I started a program to train for running a 5K. Now that the exercise thing is well under way I'm starting to really focus on nutrition and caloric intake. My biggest problem is meal planning. By the time I get home from work and get my jogging in I usually don't feel like cooking anything. I also hate cooking for one. While I try to figure that out though I'm starting to track what I eat to try and keep my caloric intake on the side of losing weight. Any suggestions on meal planning for singles are always welcome. Anyway, I'm liking the site so far and look forward to getting to know people.

I am also a singe girl trying to loose weight. I bought the cook book cook yourself thin. This book shows you how to use more veggies and spices to substitute your favorite foods. It even has appetizers and deserts for part dinners that you could make. On the weekend I make one or two of the meals and then portion them out into plastic containers and then freeze them. Then through out the week all I do is pop them into the microwave and bam low cal and good dinner. These foods are also good. I have tried other diet cook books and they are just gross to me but the ones that I have tried have been really good.0

I've reached a point in life where I'm tired of eating the same 2 or 3 meals over and over all week long. So I'm trying to find an alternative to that.0
